That comment made me think back to a time where police used profiling as an effective pro-active tool of police work.
Today they are mostly reactive because leftists have tied their hands.
The left claimed it was wrong to racially profile, but as a white person I have been profiled. One time I was invited to a party in a ritzy part of town and drove there in my older inexpensive car.
Virtually everyone who lived in that area had BMW's and the like. Next thing I knew I was pulled over while looking for the address (pre-GPS days), and the cop said I looked out of place. He thought I was casing houses.
I politely explained why I was there, and he showed me how to get there, which also allowed him to check out my story.
No harm, no foul, and it was him doing his job.
Another time I was taking a short cut driving through a black section of town, and I was pulled over. When I asked why, the cops said white people driving in that area were either looking to by drugs or to sell drugs.
So pointing out the facts should never be considered racist. Part of the reason some people couch their words with such questions/expressions is because of the PC Nazi's who do not care about facts, only assumptive emotions.
Additionally, many are sick and tired of race always being mentioned by the press when it is white on minority crime, but almost never mentioning race when it is black on white crime.
Heck they even try to call light skinned minorities who harm other minorities, white. Remember George Zimmerman who they lightened his skin via photoshopped pictures, to be able to call him a white vigilante who killed a black kid.
They also showed a picture of Trayvon Martin when he was an angelic looking little boy, not the gangsta pictures of him that he put on Youtube.
But I digress.
