Let's go back and review the history of the infrastructure topic.

There was ONE real infrastructure bill and it was bipartisan.

But, the Evil Pelosi and the dark ones called The Squad had another fake infrastructure bill that was purposely named as Human Infrastructure to fool their subjects. And our representatives were deadlocked on the fake bill, and so it went the Reconciliation route with no bipartisan support.

The Evil Pelosi and The Squad railed and threatened to hold the *real* infrastructure bill hostage unless the fake Human Infrastructure bill was passed first.

This failed. And the bipartisan bill passed eventually - although the Evil One and The Squad put dark wording and wasteful provisions in the *real* infrastructure bill.

In time, those in alliance with the Evil Pelosi and The Squad (Dems) tried another ploy and the fake Human Infrastructure bill became known as Brandon's Build Back Better - or more truly - Build Back Broke - aka Build Back Woke.

A few stalwart champions did not agree with The Evil One's plan and vowed not to support this and so this wasteful economy wrecking bill died - as befitting.

The *real* infrastructure bill has passed and is awaiting spending and implementation - how much for real bridges and roads is anyone's guess and whether those funds get spent first or whether the other bloated pet projects of the Evil Pelosi and The Squad go first.

Republicans are not opposed to fixing bridges, so just stop with the theatrics.

You and I both know that politicians will use bills designed for essential services, and then load the bills with pork, which will cause some members of the legislature to vote against a dishonest, pork laden, special interest bill, because hides pork behind legitimate spending.

Agree and guess who would get the funding first.

Ayup. Infrastructure has been neglected for decades. Those that benefitted from massive infrastructure spending in the past have selfishly let it rot rather than pay it forward.

"the infrastructure results combined with the results for the government budget deficit suggest that the United States became less future oriented, less concerned with future generations, beginning about 1970. This change has persisted. The roughly monotonic decline in infrastructure as a percent of GDP since 1970 is remarkable. The government began consuming more relative to its income and investing less around 1970."

This bridge has been on the verge of falling down for a while. The photo is a screencap from December, 2018. Why didn't the former administration pass an infrastructure bill like this one did and get it fixed...?

I hope it wasn't a "planned" accident.

FWIW - the (m)asses and muggles who think that a federal grant for infrastructure is a "good thing" consider that the states who failed to maintain their infrastructure will rely on taxes taken from states who did maintain their infrastructure.
Worse, all funds dispersed are skimmed by the magnanimous administration.

In simple terms, States can't spend $$$ on their own infrastructure because the heavy tax system deprives them of their local revenues.
And the "overlord" Feds never dispense all that they collected, so it's always a lose-lose proposition - for the state and its taxpayers.

The only real beneficiary are the politicians, their partisan supporters, employees, officers, and other recipients of administration largesse.
Gotta luv partisan politics !

Symbolic of the problem across the nation, these cities, states and counties just do not have the money for these improvements.

Quite the assumption. It was inspected and reported to the city powers that be 4 years ago and was obviously ignored. How do you know the city didn’t ignore the repairs but had the money to fix it?

Here’s some more incompetence in regards to the state.

It’s always better to get the facts and proof before blaming someone that you don’t like, in this case because Trump.
