It's nice having pets back in the white house. It humanizes a president. The majority of our presidents had pets. I think only a handful didn't. Barney and ms beasley were one of my favorites with their videos.

I'll look forward to his first press conference after living there a few weeks.
"Willow, who have you appointed as your staff?"
"That would be Hobbes, as my chief of staff; plus Morris, Garfield, and Sylvester."
"Are you expecting the White House kitchen to prepare custom meals for all of you, or would you and your staff like commercial cat food?"
"That's a tough one. I can deal with Cat Chow or Whiskas, but Hobbes likes tuna, Morris only eats 9 Lives, Garfield likes lasagna, and Sylvester--well, he just wants to devour Tweety. So I guess the kitchen will have its hands full."
Seriously, I see nothing wrong with a cat in the White House. As a cat lover, I'm glad to see it, actually. Cats being cats though, and being very good at selecting favorite places for napping that they dislike giving up, I fully expect something like the following to happen:
"Mr. President, please accept my credentials from my home country."
"Ambassador, welcome to the Oval Office. Please, take my chair. The cat has taken over the one meant for you, so I'll sit on the couch."
Well...Major was banished from the WH. Commander still lives in the WH. Did anyone give some thought as to how Commander will treat Willow? Seriously...!

Likely in a friendly fashion. The "cats and dogs hate each other" trope is not borne out in real life--both species can get along well together, and often do when put together. It may take a period of adjustment for both, but I'm sure that they will eventually become friends,

I’m thinking he’s a farm cat which makes him a hunter, a Republican and most likely a conservative.
Housecats are libertarians. Convinced of their fierce independence, but in reality utterly dependent on a system they neither appreciate nor understand.
Cats are famous for burying their turds. That poor cat will tire itself out trying to bury all of the turds that occupy the WH these days.
