We should be choosing the best nominee out of all qualified regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender.
Did you object re this when Biden said this in the Dem debate in 2020?

If you're going to claim that you did, can you demonstrate that by pointing out the post where you did that?

If you can't, then all claiming this now demonstrates is that you're still butt hurt that Trump lost.

It doesn't demonstrate anything else.

Standard answer when all the polls go against what he is determined to do.

It is, but it won’t matter. We WILL have the BWJ, just as we are stuck with the ludicrous “Wise Latina”.

All of those things are part of the qualifying of a nominee by ALL Presidents.
President Trump had to replace a Female Supreme Court Justice with another Female.
Biden is replacing a Male Supreme Court Justice with a Aui Pro Auo to pay off Cliburn for his support.

Normal People can see that, it’s particularly easy when TeamBiden even admits it.
I actually feel sorry for whoever Biden chooses. She will be forever Marked as a Quid Pro Quo payoff..

This country and it's backwards ways. Let's do the exact opposite of what the 1960's Civil Rights Movement was all about. "Let no man, woman, or child, be looked upon and judged by their race, color, or creed." So, it's 2022, and it's permissive and cool to judge people by their color, give them jobs based on their color, separate white reporters, from reporters of "color", finance housing based on the color of people's skin tone, allow someone to simply pick their race if it suits them to get ahead in life. All the while, white liberals have continued to dictate to minorities for decades what is best for them. Yet when a person of color speaks out against this, they are called an "Uncle Tom", "Racist", " Redneck", or any other similar type of "educated drivel", that liberals love to use to label. What a wonderful, wonderful world we have created in this country.

ABC Poll: 76 Percent Reject Pledge to Only Consider Black Woman for Supreme Court

I have no issue with it at all...I am sure there are plenty of black women who are more than capable and qualified for the position. Probably more qualified than some of the people already serving on the Supreme Court.
I remember when Ronald Reagan promised to nominate a woman to the supreme court....

Even the media is feeding this narrative that somehow Biden is the first to state beforehand who he would appoint.

Trump was giddy when he proudly boasted he would be appointing a woman. Hadn't decided which one -- just that it would be a woman.

But I guess we all knew it would be a white woman so nobody got their knickers in a knot -- because that seems to be the only difference here.

It works in Biden's favor with his base for the 2024 election, so it's a logical choice in that respect. It's not that different from Trump's picks in terms of party political alignment.

Gender is one thing but race? you are excluding many female groups. Like 85%

Considering a majority of even Democrats in the ABC poll don't agree with Brandon's move here - this statement is objectively incorrect.

When was that rule made?

If men had to replace men -- and women had to replace women -- there would only be men on the court.

You made that rule.

THere was nothing saying Trump HAD to nominate.

Oh wait -- except for the fact that in order to play identity politics -- a woman needed to replace a woman.

Yup.

So now ---- an old white guy, is being replaced by a black woman who has all the qualifications .

Normal people would recognize that race, gender, political affiliation and religion are all used to pick a nominee from a qualified list of candidates.
