I just saw this article from the NY Post and it is interesting.
It talks about the hypocrisy from the NFL hiring Snoop Dog that has made millions promoting the thug life and murdering cops in his music, in the wake of the ambush murder of the NYPD Officer Jason Rivera.
"This is what Roger Goodell thinks NFL audiences, of all ages, are worth on a Super Bowl Sunday. These acts are far beneath him as he has already admitted that he can’t repeat what Snoop Dogg raps. But he feels as if Snoop Dogg is perfect for you and yours — and professional football."
I wonder if Goodell also thinks that a performer like Snoop Dog is also good for the Black players which make up about 70% of the NFL ?
Is Goodell trying to be hip? Trying to be woke? Trying to bring in a more diverse audience for the games?
It is certainly odd to have a half time performer that raps about dead cops while at the same time we see messages such as "Stop Racism" "End Hate" painted in the end zones and on the back of players helmets.
Which is it Goodell and the NFL as a whole? Are we supposed to respect your message to End Hate or live by the words of your approved half time show and admire people that call for dead cops?
The message that the NFL, Pepsi and Corona are sending by promoting and using people like Snoop Dog is that they are ok with the violence he promotes.
They are thinking of Snoop Dog back in the 1990s, Snoop has toned down quite a bit today, its the same route that Ice Cube took, he was once a proud black supremacist and his lyrics were very offensive, but today hes in movies portraying normal dads, raising kids/comedies. LOL
Thugs isnt who these people are in their real lives, its just a character they play for the public. Its designed to sell music and merchandise, nothing more, nothing less.
Snoop is now part of Corporate America. The NFL doesn't care. They are all about money and ratings not about morals. Yes, the NFL are fakes but I knew that years ago.
I haven't watched the superbowl or any NFL game since the NFL allowed players to kneel for the anthem. I won't be watching the coming superbowl so don't care about the halftime show.
