There is outrage but if Jews are considered White than the Holocaust was just White on White violence. I've noticed a shift in my lifetime. Jewish victimhood has lost its significance due to the push for Black victimhood. The Black Jewish alliance is no more.
The Nazis saw themselves as the superior race, and looked down on the Slavs and Jews as inferior. This was the dictionary definition for racism. But in Whoopi's mind all those white people not only look alike but they are all the same.
She was technically wrong, but we all understand that she's speaking from the perspective of how we see Jewish people today in America: pretty much as White as White gets, and any discrimination they were subjected to in this country is miniscule compared to what Blacks have endured.
The Holocaust was about racism but not the American brand and none of our business anyway. I can't imagine a German receiving backlash for saying slavery wasn't about race
None of those goobers on the View have read Hitler's rabid writings. He considered Jewish people to be a different race, and convinced others of the same.
If the Holocaust was merely "man's inhumanity to man" then so were lynchings of black people. We could go further and lump quite a lot of crime into that simple, broad category.
