Pastor Greg Locke out of Tennessee is organizing a book and "gadget" burning according to his Facebook page. He is including Ouija boards, which he calls "portals to hell."

Quote:
His Facebook post continued: “Ring all of your Harry Potter stuff. Laugh all you’ll haters. I do not care. It’s witchcraft one hundred pc.

“All your “Twilight” books and flicks. That mess is stuffed with spells, demonism, shape-shifting and occultism. Bring tarot playing cards, ouija birds, therapeutic crystals, idol statues, spell books and all the pieces else tied to the occult. It’s bought to go.

“If you assume we’re loopy, then scroll on. We’re exposing the Kingdom of Darkness for what it’s. It’s time for individuals to be delivered.”

The assertion concluded: “We is not going to tolerate witchcraft and we is not going to be compromising with satan worshippers.
Right-wing pastor Greg Locke organizes “huge” e-book burning

It reminds me of reading about those who burned Beatles records in the 60s after Lennon's infamous "more popular than Jesus" quote. I'm sure eventually most of those people bought the albums again after cooler heads prevailed. It certainly did not hurt the Beatles in the long run.

He is not to be taken seriously, he said the Delta Variant was fake and asked church attendees to ditch their masks last year. Also held full church services in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. Time for these parishioners to find a better pastor.

Why would members of his church have those things in the first place?

Ok, so a private religious group is doing something with their own property and is not espousing harming anyone else or their property.

While I do not share their views on the matter, why should this concern any of us?

You forgot church services in a tent. They most recently lost another tent went the tornados ripped through Kentucky and through the area in TN where it's located. Even then, this church gave back.
This church is also known to give money to others also.

Let them burn stuff if they want. It's not harming you nor anyone else.
However he's not wrong on some of the stuff he is saying that needs to be burned.

That figures. They're against witchcraft. That's like divination. Seeing into the spirit realm and contacting the spirits of the dead, to see what a person was in his life. Telling the person his personal life story. When he has no known knowledge of how he should know that information. That is witchcraft.

So is this anything like the left wanting to "burn" Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn? Along with a lot of other popular literature from the past.
