Surprise, locking us down did next to nothing to lower mortality. We all know that it is impossible to hide from germs, they’re everywhere. Our covidiot leaders scared the stuffing out of us over what has amounted to pretty much nothing. What a shame.
It's like no one pays attention to what anyone says besides Fauci.
The WHO already stated, way back in mid 2020 that the lock downs actually caused more deaths, not less.
I even linked to it for the people on this forum, way back then.
But Fauci, some governors, and the stupid, useless media continued to push the idea that it was a good thing, a 'protective' thing, and were even threatening to do it again.
Once again - an article and commentary that answers a question no one is asking.
Did lockdowns ultimately change the number of deaths? I dunno - I don't need to look either - because I DO know that was never the point. It was not to reduce deaths or cases - but to spread them out over time.

Honestly, no one knew what we were dealing with, so the whole world shut down. Covid is the deadliest pandemic, surpassing 1918. The surprising thing that has come out of this is that it emboldened employees to have more of a say in their jobs. The majority have been working from home and they don't want to go back to the office fulltime. They seem to have the upper hand now. This has really changed our workforce
The number they came up with is without lockdowns there would have been 0.2% more deaths
What's the number for excess deaths by suicide, untreated medical conditions like cancer, etc...
Much higher.
And that doesn't even take into account stunted lives and child development, businesses lost, destruction of the US treasury. What a disaster, authoritarians should never be allowed to get away with this ever again

I read that the estimate to lost earnings (lifetime) to school age children due to school lockdowns and remote learning is 17 Trillion!
The myopic policy taken by US & World leaders for handling Covid by way of pushing lockdowns has proven to be disastrous.
The point of the lockdowns was to reduce the spread, not to reduce the mortality rate. It looks like another misuse of statistics.
