I think we all know the answer. Avoid a media blitz and protesting. I used to like Whoopie and have most of movies she played in, buy the last and only time I saw her on The View, I truly thought she may be suffering from the early signs of dementia. A few people lose their "filters" as they get older.
I always thought Rosanne had a "She went crazy" clause in her contract, her antics in the past likely meant she was on a short leash. Also, the other co-cast had been through Rosanne causing the show to end the first time.
Let us not pretend she was a favorite of the right either, many including Republicans were still upset about how she sang the National Anthem.
Reminds me of Mr. Tiger Blood Charlie Sheen, his show was #1 but he became too toxic and was let go while the show continued.
