I’m sure if you follow the news that this story has popped up. I don’t know what to think. Now that he didn’t get the job, the NFL is raciest.

I blame the Rooney rule for this. Now I have to deal with everyone on FB calling the NFL raciest and posts like these.

So it’s not raciest to require a company to hire a black guy? We make up 13% of the population. Why would you require half of the NFL to have black coaches and be black owned?

IMHO unless there is compelling evidence I haven't heard of, there is ZERO case here.

Add it to the list of reasons why I've paid scant attention to the NFL in the last two years or so. Didn't even know the Bengals were in the playoffs, much less had reached the Super Bowl, until yesterday.

It's Black History and Superbowl month.

Of course there is going to be a confluence of racist rhetoric.

Remember the moronic tweets last year about Brady beating a black quarterback in the Superbowl as racist?

Everything, everywhere, anytime, all the time: racism during February.

Thank goodness it's the shortest month of the year.

Mostly players. There is currently one black head coach. Not sure about upper management in the NFL, but I bet it is at about that 1/32 percent as well. The fact that Bill Belichick knew the Giants were going to hire Brian Daboll before they had interviewed Flores is pretty damming. Flores had two straight winning seasons at Miami and was still fired.

The man is a failed coach, he just can't bring himself to admit he's a midwit - so play victim

My understanding is that there was a disagreement between the owner and general manager, on the one hand, and the coach on the other, over the starting quarterback; the former insisted on this young player, Tua for short, and the coach wanted to go in another direction.

I also heard that Mr Flores is alleging that the owner offered to pay him to throw games.

That could be hearsay, but certainly the owner gives the impression of not wanting to win, so even if hearsay it has some credibility that the owner lacks.

The coach did not have a stellar win-loss record with the Dolphins, but he did put together back-to-back seasons above 0.500, the first time for the franchise in almost 20 years.
