To be honest, I know little about pedophilia other than the basics and having read Nabokov. And that was when I was in high school. When I read about someone who is charged or convicted of these heinous crimes I am weirdly fascinated.
I might be interested in taking a course on the subject and learning more about it. Not because I want to be indoctrinated but because I just don't get the whole attraction to children.
I do think it is a topic worth exploring on the college level. Could be helpful in many jobs or just in life.

I've noticed that sick people often find a culture that performs a sick act that they approve of and then pretend that act is somehow normal or should be considered "normal' for the mainstream to accept or even participate in it. The, well, "historically this has been done before so it's OK" argument.
Lots of horrible, disgusting, unthinkable things have been down before. We don't need to repeat the disgusting mistakes of previous humans.
But you see a lot of that type of "logic" on these boards.
So did any of his student's break down and sob? Were so distraught they couldn't funcion? Protest outside his office? Did the administration promise food for any distraught students?
