I'm afraid this time around when BOTW2 comes out there isn't going to be much discussion as it will be an entirely new fan group that gets into the game that likely hasn't played the 1st due to how much time has passed and situations in people's lives will be A LOT different! BOTW was the last of the fading era of online discussion and that game was picked apart but I got into the discussion by the time it was all over.

It's called the dumbing down of America and has gone on for quite some time. You'll even see articles that will state how long of a "read" it is at the beginning. Between that and the people that ignore any rational, contrary opinions, it's simply a group that needs an echo chamber and suffers from cognitive dissonance. There are quite a few posters on this forum like this.
I can't share my thoughts as most people take it out of context not reading beyond a tweet's length if I have a deep view of something that requires actual explanation and different parts. Hell this may be too long actually.
Don't go on Twitter then, it works for me. The only time I ever see a tweet is if someone here links to it.

This writer claims it's because people are "time pressed". That's a nice way of saying they're intellectually lazy.
A lot of people read headlines, and are politically illiterate, but they vote anyway. sadly, they think reading headlines equates to being informed voters.
They are the same with thread and news articles. Many news organizations realize this and structure the titles to be misleading. Sometimes the accurate information is buried at the bottom of the article.
oh, a large majority of this forum doesn't "read beyond the lede", and the once-renowned news sources (like AP) no longer care. They opinionize with the headline and the lede and move on.
