This part is not Biden’s fault. The only reason the Afghani people weren’t in this position for the last 20 years is because we were pouring billions of dollars into their nation. A lot of really bad things are going to be happening to the Afghani people that didn’t for the last 20 years. Either they will rise up and do something about it themselves or it won’t ever change.
Senator Biden worked with Carter and Reagan when the US government sent billions of dollars and guns to the Taliban starting in 1979.
Suddenly, it's not his fault.
Good grief. What does over 40 years ago have to do with today. I'm sure many posters weren't even born then. So maybe you could enlighten us of what happened in 1979
Biden was the fall guy for the Afghanistan disaster. The Afghanistan disaster was the fault of lots of people stretching back to George W. Bush in 2001.
Could Biden have done better? Possibly, but it sounds like the swiftness of the Taliban victory took everyone by surprise.
Full list of equipment is in link above. Not many know just how much Biden abandoned in Afghanistan. 22,000 humvees, 8,000 military 5 tons, over 40,000 pickups, over 60,000 machine guns and over 100 helicopters, just to name some of the billions abandoned. No plan to take home any of it. Nice work.
Poor planning, reckless “execution” and Biden’s lack of any plan to bring even some of that equipment home. So yeah, Biden could have possibly done better.
Um, the Afghan army outnumbered the Taliban 10 to 1. They had all the modern weapons and training money could buy. and it took them 2 weeks to collapse completely. If the Afghans weren't willing to fight for their own freedom, they deserve to be ruled by the taliban.
No doubt the U.S. should have gotten out much sooner or better yet, not gotten involved at all. Russia was in there for 10 years and they didn't have much success either.
It wasn't that the U.S. finally got out of there, it was the way it was done. It was a poorly executed haphazard mess directed by the infinitely incompetent Joe Biden. You don't pull the troops out first, you don't leave Americans behind, and you certainly don't hand over $80 billion in military equipment.
It was a disaster, and the blame belongs to Biden, who never made one right decision in his entire pathetic political existence.
Biden's nickname is The Destructor. He destroys everything he touches.
Trump, with the halo around his head according to Trumpsters, had wanted to get out of Afghanistan the first day he was elected, and now it's Biden's fault?
Ignorance is the softest pillow you can lay your head on!
Biden isn't to blame for that trainwreck of a country.. they were that way are that way and will continue to be that way
