And it is sad.

What do we do.....

How could this withdrawal fiasco possibly not be his fault?

Nothing.

It's not our problem, and it's not in our capacity to solve it anyways.

Good grief. What does over 40 years ago have to do with today. I'm sure many posters weren't even born then. So maybe you could enlighten us of what happened in 1979

Possibly? Could Biden have done better?

Biden could have required the removal of billions in military equipment prior to fleeing.
https://fee.org/articles/here-s-the-...r-the-taliban/

Full list of equipment is in link above. Not many know just how much Biden abandoned in Afghanistan. 22,000 humvees, 8,000 military 5 tons, over 40,000 pickups, over 60,000 machine guns and over 100 helicopters, just to name some of the billions abandoned. No plan to take home any of it. Nice work.

Poor planning, reckless “execution” and Biden’s lack of any plan to bring even some of that equipment home. So yeah, Biden could have possibly done better.

Um, the Afghan army outnumbered the Taliban 10 to 1. They had all the modern weapons and training money could buy. and it took them 2 weeks to collapse completely. If the Afghans weren't willing to fight for their own freedom, they deserve to be ruled by the taliban.

No doubt the U.S. should have gotten out much sooner or better yet, not gotten involved at all. Russia was in there for 10 years and they didn't have much success either.

It wasn't that the U.S. finally got out of there, it was the way it was done. It was a poorly executed haphazard mess directed by the infinitely incompetent Joe Biden. You don't pull the troops out first, you don't leave Americans behind, and you certainly don't hand over $80 billion in military equipment.

It was a disaster, and the blame belongs to Biden, who never made one right decision in his entire pathetic political existence.

Leaving Afghanistan was the right thing to do, and it's something I laud Biden for.

That decision is what put his approval rating underwater and likely doomed him to a single term.

People like winners, and Biden made the unpopular but correct decision to admit that we lost. For this he was punished.
