This info is blaming Democrats for the high crime and poverty in these cities. What specific Democratic policies have caused these problems?

Quote:
Some of the most dangerous big cities are: St. Louis, Detroit, Baltimore, Oakland, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, Birmingham, Newark, Buffalo and Philadelphia. The most common characteristic of these cities is that for decades, all of them have been run by liberal Democrats. Some cities - such as Detroit, Buffalo, Newark and Philadelphia - haven't elected a Republican mayor for more than a half-century.

Democrats have been running/ruining Detroit for like 80 years. It would be very hard to blame anyone but democrats for that mess.

Same with Philadelphia. They have not had a Republican mayor since the 1940s.

lots of abandoned factories littered around these cities. where did the jobs go? what anti-business policies made them go elsewhere? who worked in these factories? then there was homelessness and people living in substandard housing. solution? build government high density housing projects. that worked out well. thanks democrats!

Democrats are big on talk, but never deliver. They will promise anything to get elected and then use their position to entrench themselves further. Eventually it's impossible to remove them to try another direction because the voters are browbeat or punished if they they stray.

  1. Law enforcement that is soft on crime
  2. Tax increases that are hard on productivity
  3. Legislative preference towards what is good for the ruling class and their cronies, not the average citizen
  4. Hostility towards business, progress and urban renewal/maintenance (often railed against by using gentrification as a pejorative)
This creates a landscape where the productive working and SPENDING class leaves for friendlier pastures. They leave not only because they should, but also because they CAN. They call it white flight, to make it sound like some sort of racist villainy, but it is more appropriate to say "middle/upper class flight" because every middle/upper class black, hispanic or asian resident that can leave is in the moving truck in the lane next to the white family on the road out of the city and headed to that friendlier location.

What happens next is a political cycle we have seen countless times in the last 50-70 years. Democrats not only blame the GOP and white people generally, they also double down on the tax, legislative and economic policies that caused the middle/upper class flight in the first place.
  • Taxes too high, made people leave? Uh oh, tax base shrinking, raise taxes!!
  • Soft on crime made it too dangerous for normal, law abiding folks to stay? Uh oh, get softer on crime, blame white people!!
  • Economic regs too hostile to business, made them all leave? Uh oh, blame businesses and white people, make the environment even more hostile!!
  • Too many cronies getting busted for corruption? Uh oh, better get new cronies and more of them...and blame white people and the GOP!!
Basically, they set cities on fire and then spend a few decades looting them as they burn to the ground, and the entire time, they blame the Republicans and white people, who left town half a century ago.

This exact scenario has played out in liberal run towns, cities and states since the turn of the 20th century. And the liberal thing transcends party, because plenty of liberals hide in the GOP because they want to loot towns/cities that will only vote R based on tradition, but who the R is doesn't matter whatsoever.

And after failing to deliver on their promises, they pat themselves on the back for trying, while everything they have touched turns to crap, falls apart, stops working, etc.

Excellent analogy!!!

They enable an entitlement mentality by giving these people subsidized housing, telling them they are victims and oppressed, and then going soft on crime making it lucrative to do things like deal drugs for income.

If you look at racial dot maps you can see how democrat policy has shaped cities over the last 50 years... in eastern WI they tried hard to get housing projects in Ozaukee county but that county would have nothing to do with it, so you can see the cutoff line where the shuffling around of minorities to try to "integrate" everything ends on the map.

Bottom line, people don't want thugs and criminals living in their areas. Behave yourself, get a job, act in a responsible and considerate manner towards your neighbors and you are welcome into our areas, otherwise get out. Letting in government parasites tends to increase crime rates no matter what their skin color. I'm tired of giving people fish. If we aren't teaching them how to fish we are doing it wrong.

And where are the shining example of Republican lead cities? I've asked before but never seem to get a response?
