1. Not continued with massive QE
2. Tightened monetary policy before it got out of hand
3. Controlled the ports to maintain the flow of products
4. Kept the Keystone pipeline going
5. Expanded, rather than cut, US domestic energy exploration
6. Not imposed Covid rules to keep people out of jobs
7. Kept out of stupid Paris Accord
8. Removed crazy leftist regulations that restrict truckers in certain areas

Interest rates and QE are used to stimulate the economy.

Ever wonder why Trump continuously lobbied FRB to stimulate the economy?

Ever wonder “ what if” had not FRB gone along?

Trump was all for the Pandemic Stimulus packages to give people $ to stimulate the economy. Trump is on the record favoring a second stimulus for more than Chuck and Nancy asked for.

As a last ditch before the 2020 election he asked for a clean bill for more stimulus. The Republican majority in the Senate would not play ball. Who knows? Had there been round 2 before the 2020 election, Trump might have won.

POTUS has few tools to fight inflation. Guess Biden could impose a Wage and Price freeze by EO, and subsequent controls, as Nixon did in 1970.

Most economists seem to agree that did more harm than good over the long haul.

Yes indeed! Worked great for Nazi Germany too. Their inflation is who you're wanting to emulate right?

A better idea is having a country with scarcity where communities have to pool together their labor to get by.
What world is that? They turn on each other and start shooting because there is a scarcity.

Black Friday taught us that.

Back in the day before the welfare state, more people did help out. But why help when government will do it for you?

Trump continued the massive QE and that's not bad when he did it?
Increased welfare and spending and debt.
Never ending wars in the Middle East.

All the big ticket items Trump was just like all the others. Complete garbage and a known failure. Was he as bad as Obama or Biden, No, but he still was pretty bad.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

The US people spend a smaller percentage. of their disposable income on food than they did in 1960. During the same period, the obesity rate increased from 13% to 40%. 75% of us are now overweight- obese.

The US people spend substantially less of their disposable income on food than any other country and are the fattest people in the world exclusive of sparsely populated islands in the Pacific who acquired a taste for animal fat waste imports.

Excess weight creates increased vulnerability to all sorts of nasty diseases. One- third of us are Diabetic/ pre Diabetic which complicates everything. 25% of every healthcare spend is used to treat Diabetes. It’s primarily a self induced epidemic and most common preexisting conditions.

I love it when democrats try to tell Americans to cut back. It's the surest way I know to lose an election every time. Ironically, democrats are only stupid enough to say this when democrats are in the white house. When it's a republican, all we ever hear is about how the rich should be sharing their wealth, paying for poor people's everything, etc. Hey democrats... How about not making millions of Americans poor with your idiotic policies??? Oh I forgot... In order for Americans to accept socialism, they have to be poor, hungry and on their knees, just the way you like them to be.

I would love to see the facts and figures behind this claim and not just the information presented by the govt. in the final report. Also a comparison of the definition of "disposable income", "food" and "money" then and now, along with facts and figures on where the other disposable income went back then vs. now. I was shopping in the mid sixties and this doesn't jive with my real life experiences. I'm not buying it.

Then come the political allies trying to spin with misleading statements and glossing over the problem.

So compare the article title:

can be good for everyday Americans and bad for rich people
But then they go on to say things like:

Quote:
anyone living on a fixed income, such as retirees, who aren't benefiting from wage increases that people in the labor force are seeing, are feeling extra pain as prices go up.
That's some spin with a dash of class warfare.
