I'm surprised Idaho hasn't already started and tried to make Washington pay for it.

So wait -- if larger capacity magazines account for an estimated 22 to 36 percent of gun crimes and 40% of serious gun-related violent crimes, that means SMALLER capacity magazines are used the vast majority of gun crimes. So shouldn't they ban those instead? It sounds to me like criminals will be less likely to commit crime if they have larger capacity magazines!
So it bans the manufacture, distribution and sale of hi-cap mags... but not possession of them.
So all one has to do is say they bought it prior to the ban or bought it in another state.
Good job, politicians!
It does, unless grandfathered.
"prohibiting the manufacture, possession, distribution, importation, selling, offering for sale, purchasing, or transfer of large capacity magazines"
"19 (a) The possession of a large capacity magazine by a person who
20 legally possessed the large capacity magazine before the effective
21 date of this section or the possession of a large capacity magazine
22 by a person who, on or after the effective date of this section,
23 acquires possession of the large capacity magazine by operation of
24 law upon the death of a former owner who was in legal possession of
25 the large capacity magazine, provided the person in possession of the
26 large capacity magazine can establish such provenance."
But yeah, considering how many school shootings and such are linked to a kid getting a hold of their parents/grandparents firearm...

Holy crap !
I definitely overthought that one, when I wrote my reply.
Great call, the statistics they showed proves exactly what you stated.
More proof the politicians just don't get it.
And keep going down the list until everything is banned!
