Russia only has one aircraft carrier, and its an old piece of floating junk. Nothing in the Russian Air Force can hang with a USAF F-35. Russia likely saber rattling, and back down if US sends more forces into Europe. Biden must be more Reagan-like(talk tough, and not be chicken).
Aircraft carriers are old technology. Nuclear tipped hypersonic missiles are the order of the day. We know Russia has them. We know they can successfully neutralize an aircraft carrier. We have no idea if the US has them. We tried researching and building them but that's all I know about it. I was under the impression the US military felt they were not feasible at this time.
You right wingers need to look at the positive side of things:
no more mean tweets
journalism is no longer under attack
our “norms and traditions” are safe
the party that cares can make everything perfect if they just have more power and money
LOL. . . you forgot to set the [sarcasm] font on . . .

Actually, aircraft carriers are still very relevant in today’s militaries. The US has several super carriers, often referred to as “floating cities”. These are very high-tech naval vessels that pack some awesome firepower. The AEGIS defense system would quickly obliterate any missile that got even remotely close to one of them.

It's an area I have no expertise in. I hope you are right and I have great faith in my nation's military to do what must be done to accomplish their mission of defending our great nation. I'm sure there is plenty more technology that I am not even aware of. I don't think our leaders are stupid enough to brag about all of our capabilities. I'm sure they have not shared them with Zhoe Brandon either.
... that giant sucking sound that began in the 1990s was the first.
Russia is prey.
China a serious predator.
