True, but few watch tv at all, it's part of a larger trend. OTA TV is in decline for many reasons. Some are idelo, some are changing preferences, some because of new alternatives.

Tic-Tok among boomers has low numbers too...

There is a YouTube channel, I believe from the NFL itself, that shows highlights of every game, just a few hours after their conclusion, at least 9 minutes, up to 14 minutes, at least a few key plays of virtually every drive of every game, almost an entire condensed game that one could otherwise pay a subscription for. That and an ad blocker solves problems: free, no commercials, no dead time between plays, no off-field commentary.

Still, I only bother with a few games every few weeks, and even then often I can’t stomach the whole 9 minutes.

The NFL gains more revenue with more casual viewers across multiple media platforms and paraphernalia sales in stores and online than it does with a dwindling number of dedicated fans on national television as if it were the 1970s and 1980s.

The diehards from the 1970s and 1980s may not like it, but these money-making executives at the NFL know what they are doing.

My parents never watched sports, so its nothing something we grew up watching, and I still dont watch any sports today, my dad always said that it didnt matter one bit if a team won or lost, it didnt impact his life at all, so he didnt see the point of watching. I feel the same way.

But I think for a lot of people, its just a way to show off their pride for a particular city.

As far as the halftime shows go in the last 10 years, that for me has been the MAIN time to step away from the TV. That's the time to check into the kitchen and make sure the ladies are all okay making the second half treats for the boys, give them a round of applause, and help where needed!
I'll put on some Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones for half an hour.

You people do realize this is simply a survey?

Nielsen has had problem accounting for "cord cutters" for years, so it's not like the information is readily available on what the younger demographic is doing, since more of them would fall in the "cord cutter" category.

I know the NFL has done better this year so far

It takes almost ten minutes for them to get through one minute of the play clock. I have better things to do with my time than that.

I see that as positive. There are far more important things to focus on as a young adult or at any point in life for that matter.

I have 5 children and 12 grandchildren, and none of them watch sports. I no longer watch basketball, golf, hockey, soccer or baseball. I watch the games of my hometown NFL team. I have no plans to watch the Superbowl this year.
