This is not a new stat.

It was 42% in 2018 and 42% in 2019.

Afghanistan - Entitlement: A female employee is entitled to 90 days of paid maternity leave. Thirty days of the leave is granted before delivery and the rest (60 days) is granted to her after delivery.

United States of America - Compulsory: There is not compulsory leave. Entitlement: 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave with continued group health insurance coverage, to be taken during a 12 months period after birth. 26 weeks for Members of the Armed Forces.

I wouldn't have to do anything and neither would the taxpayers. That is the whole point. If you can't feed'em, don't breed'em. "Fathers" would have their wages/benefits automatically garnished to provide support.

You honestly think your taxes would be lowered if that percentage disappeared? And that amount would afford you a child. Roughly if a couple made 100K only had the standard deduction you would pay roughly 12K in federal taxes. Estimating the portion that would go into loafers at 10% your yearly contribution is 1200$

You going to garnish an additional 10K?
what if you cant find him, what if he dosnt work, what if he dosent make enough.
You going to have the hospital absorb the cost or refuse treatment and have women giving birth in the street dying and what not.
