The UK still certainly has imperial ambitions, but regardless, I've never known anyone who doesn't consider America an empire. What you fail to grasp is the purpose of empire, or for that matter, the purpose of the state.

Absolute rubbish, I've never met anybody that thinks the US is an 'Empire' because it simply isn't!! It doesn't surprise me that some people in the US claim that it is though! After all the US is nation of people that think they won the war on their own, a nation of people that use terms such as 'American English', thinks the world is 'Americanised' and that they invented everything from apple pie to cars!
The USA does NOT have an Empire, what separate sovereign states in this world are the US illegally occupying? What separate sovereign states in this world are run from Washington without representation?

You're the first person I've ever met who didn't think America was an empire. Even one of my favorite politicians, Pat Buchanan, called America an empire. Ron Paul used to complain that American empire would be its fall. Lefties such as Ward Churchill calls America an empire. I assumed that only absolute brainlets such as know-nothing moderates would think America wasn't an empire.

Imperialism discusses hard vs soft power, and America's economic extortion and interventionist foreign policy. Which aim to keep the world dependent on the United States and thus subservient to us. In some cases even dependent on US troops stationed directly in their countries to prevent overthrow/civil war.
All of this creates globalization. Which is why it is strange to hear Americans complaining about globalism. American is globalism. We maintain the world order. We keep the shipping lanes open. We prevent war. We enforce international law(even if we don't obey it ourselves).
We are now 30 trillion dollars in debt, drugs pouring over the border, illegals invading us from 150 countries while the dems push we are a racist country.. then why are the black and brown people pouring over here? We have Communists in the White House destroying the life line to our economy. Oil and Natural Gas two big essentials for running this country.
We have the woke nuts running our culture into the ground. We accept men who think they are a woman competing now in sports and accepted by the nuts.
We have sex education in schools for little kids today. TV shows porn in the middle of the afternoon . We have cancel culture from the nuts who want a one party Communist system in place. We are seeing a police state and far left power attacking the commoners who are the backbone of this country. We have corporations who bow to China .
We have no accountablity from the corruption of the left yet they run rampant looking for crimes against anyone who supports WE THE PEOPLE and the Constitution.
We have lefty nuts who want to dismantle our identity as a country. Taking down monuments, statues, changing books to hate America all planned for decades by the Communists who want to destroy our freedom and sovereignty and our citizenship.
We are daily being attacked.
We have a man leading us Milley who stated to China if the president decides to attack you , I will let you know before hand.. our soldiers have a leftist nut running the military .
We have a old worn out second rate politician in office because the lefty nut media put him there. We have an incompetent VP who does nothing and knows less than nothing.
We have run away inflation as the nutty left wants to destroy the wealth of the commoners across the board. We have a bloated stock market as the Fed propped it up with 4 trillion dollars of printed money.
We have a pandemic from the Communists in China to wreak havoc on the small businesses and fires the backbone of this nation if they don't get the shot. Natural immunity is ignored because they DO NOT FOLLOW THE SCIENCE. They follow the power to push people around just like in Communist countries. We have masked kids to dumb them down keeping them out of school .
We have lost small businesses but the big corporations were kept opened like Walmart, Best Buy , all the larger chains yet the small businesses were closed down .
I could go on and on how we are being destroyed today. Our children are being indoctrinated, dumbed down and parents are looked at as domestic terrorists by an out of control government that is to serve the people. They do not. They serve their own power. The criminal has more rights today than the victim.
We are being destroyed today and have been for decades. It took electing a president that stood up for the people and now we find out who is who. Who is deep state who want the corrupt power to continue or an ideology that stands up for the Americans and this this country and it basic love of freedom, ethics and choices . We are losing them but we must fight back. The government is there to protect us , not build our enemies up , build up the Communists, it is coming to that . "The love of money is the root of all evil" The lefties are corrupt and sold us out for the dollar.
