LANDSLIDES! Wow. Too bad the far left mayor gets to choose replacements...maybe they will have learned a lesson from this recall because the parents can do it again.

The nasty tweets the vice president of the SF school board made about Asians didn't go over too well. Esp. given Asians make up 35% of the city

"Asian Americans use “white supremacist” thinking to get ahead and were racist toward Black students."

I'm kinda half happy they are giving up on trying to drag Asians into their sjw fold and just lumping Asians with whitey.

and saying someone is 'racist' towards them has just gotten so old and overused it has lost all meaning. Like Asians are guarding the library or something. At least they aren't curb stomping them in the streets.

Not all people want elite woke Anglo Saxon ideals. The majority has spoken. My best bet for white liberals sjw woke types who feel bad for blacks and native Americans. Use your money and open up private schools that believe in social justice. Plain and simple and stop taking over institutions.

I’m surprised this story isn’t getting the attention it deserves. It touches on so many political/cultural issues it makes your head spin:

- ultra liberal San Francisco rejecting far left progressive school board members
- voters/parents venting their displeasure with schools closed far longer than necessary
- another harbinger of what will happen in the midterm elections
- the recall strongly supported by Asian-Americans aka “People of Color”
- rejection of progressive ideology on race and equity

This is as much of a political earthquake as the election of Youngkin in Virginia and the narrow re-election of Murphy in New Jersey. The next events to look for are the recall election of the San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin and the potential recall of Los Angeles DA George Gascon. If those events happen, then you’ll know the far left progressive movement is in retreat.

I'm surprised this actually didn't get more attention, perhaps they figured it would just be an automatic vote against the recall. But for those who don't like the source you can read all about it at CNN.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/16/polit...ion/index.html

And the 3 recalled didn't just lose by a little, they lost by a vote of over 70% voting to recall them.

It really is a case that eventually the democrats have to start eating their own, as this is still basically democrat vs. democrat. But this should be a huge wake-up call to every "Progressive" school board member in the Country. San Francisco is practically Ground Zero for Liberalism and Progressive politics and even here the parents said enough was enough.

Quote:
The seeds of anger that led to the recall effort were planted early in the coronavirus pandemic, when the board considered changing the names of as many as 44 public schools in a city that was still grappling with how to safely reopen them.

These people really don't think parents should have a say in their kid's education. Modern day 1984.

Parents vote for the schoolboard so of course they have a say. I don't understand why anyone thinks parents don't have a say. Parents need to be involved though. You are also educators of your children. Volunteer in the classroom. Go on fieldtrips. Parents who complain about not having a say are the ones who aren't involved in their kids lives in school.

Being a chaperone on a field trip does not equal having a say in their kid's education, so not really sure where you pulled that from.

But parents aren't saying they don't have a say. School Board members that the Parents elected are the ones saying that parents don't have a say. And these school boards members are being shown how wrong that belief is. It happened in VA, it almost happened in NJ, and now it happened in San Francisco.

My point was that parents need to be involved. I used the field trip as an example
