"I thought about kissing a girl once, therefore I must be gay" maybe? "I had a threesome with my girlfriend and another woman, therefore they must be Bi" Maybe?

Bisexuals do make up the biggest share of LGBT folks.
"The upswing is significant, Gallup Senior Editor Jeff Jones told USA TODAY. "I think it speaks to society changing in terms of acceptance of people with different sexual orientations and gender identities and people’s willingness to identify that way," he said."
It is so weird to think that one has to willingly accept their orientations and identities. When I matured I did not stand up and identify as straight I just was so why do people feel the need to come out. Your identity is who you are. It is refreshing that in our society you can identify as anything you want but does it need to be shouted from the rooftops?
Does anyone really care if someone is gay or not? It is like the Dems trying to divide us over Race. Does anyone really care if someone is Black? All that matters to most of us is that other people are NICE. That is all it takes to be accepted into American society. You only need to be NICE and don't get in the way of others living their lives.
I guess we can thank the Left for the big Progressive push to alter our society by breaking down barriers. They have set the standard for people to come out of the shadows whether they are LGBQTIxyz or even an Illegal Alien.
People are People and as long as they are NICE it is all okay.

Considering being straight is/was a societal norm, I can certainly understand why you didn't feel the need to stand up and identify as straight - the same wasn't always true for gay people. Aside from that, I agree that most people nowadays (and at least in my adult-life) have been accepting of people regardless of their sexual orientation. Today's Left manufactures false premises in order to push its ideology.

I'm sure Sociatal acceptance is a big player, especially in the Bi world. An individual can determine whatever they want. I'm a man, I have had a couple of threesomes, and none of the women identified as Bisexual. My current girlfriend is straight and I could guaranteed if asked she would say she is LGBTQ, even though she has only been with men. She is a major "visual signaler" though

Agreed. Leftist have to create problems, even when there are none. They have done amazing jobs with their cities as of late, haven't they
Being unable to find a mate does not mean you have to play for the other team.
Sometimes it does. Some people would rather have someone than no one.
