Oil prices have spiked, inflation is running wild and the Dow has lost thousands of points since the Russia/Ukraine skirmish began.
Are you willing to give up your 401k in support of Ukraine and sticking it to Putin?
This is a short-term correction as Russia's economy drives quickly into insolvency and irrelevancy until a new leader emerges after Putin. European countries have far more economic challenges to deal with in the near-term than we do.
401k's don't lose value from temporary drops. Just leave it alone and it'll come back eventually.
That said, I've been buying more S&P since this started. I like to increase purchases when things are dropping. I'm not big on trying to time the market, but this strategy netted me very large gains during covid.
I am more concerned with the price of Oil as that hits us all in our daily lives and that is up greatly today. Most money i have ever made in one day from oil stock in a single day as of 2; pm est. But that is not going to do me much good as rising fuel costs make every other aspect of my and all of our lives much tougher in the days to come.
