The basis of the conflict is whether countries Eastern Europe should be free to choose their foreign policy, including defensive alliances - or not. Russia is clearly on the side of "not".
And seriously - "Ray Mack"?

Wrong. Get a clue. Ukraine is a neo-Nazi paradise pariah unfit for even NATO with Right Sector and many others like them all over Ukraine.
Salon, 2/2/22: "...The most critical events that have been airbrushed out of the West's political narrative are the violation of*agreements*made by Western leaders at the end of the Cold War not to expand NATO into Eastern Europe, and the*U.S.-backed coup*in Ukraine in February 2014... in which an armed mob led by the neo-Nazi Right Sector militia*stormed*the Ukrainian parliament, forcing elected President Viktor Yanukovych and members of his party to flee for their lives. ..."
Oh yeah, whomever disagrees with you must be Russian, right? LOL.
You're just yet another anti-Russian troll who wants bloodshed and lots of war and fighting when I could care less about Russia or your fixations because the U.S. needs to stay out of this and let Europe handle it. We've had enough wars.
We’ve done all the worse, evil, bad things just like every other country. Coups, invasions, war crimes, enslavement, interment camps, annexation, colonizing, segregation, etc.
At the end of the day, Ukraine is not a NATO member. The entire NATO alliance is flawed, and Putin is exploiting it now. Maybe next year he invades Finland and Sweden, because hey, they’re not NATO!
That's not what a neocon is. I recommend looking up PNAC. Their site may still be up. The organization was created in the 90s and many ended up in the GWB administration.
Wrong. The definition started out as a slam by Dems against Dems and many still use it as such while other orgs have the definition applying to both Dems and Repubs.

So NATO can pull back to its original 1947 country makeup and Russia can pull back within its borders with peace for all.
Get out of NATO and bring the troops home like our Founders envisioned. Follow the Constitution and quit being policemen of the world.
While I don't like the 'get out' thing as we did in Afcrapastan, I get the concept of having the Europeans taking care of their part of the world. Thank goodness, the then president Trump, made the EU nations step up in order to have NATO better prepared. That's a big deal today.
We will always have a role to play in the world, but by God, we need to do it smarter then in the past.

Be nice. They are only following orders with these posts.

Other countries aren't doing this stuff. I think of the places where many of my friends have come from... Philippines, India, Mexico, Canada, Poland... These places aren't doing this kind of crap. They have not the means nor the desire. The world basically has been letting the USA be the world police man ever since WW2 ended. And sometimes, we play the role of the dirty cop. That doesn't mean there aren't criminals who deserve a good smack in the mouth, or boot to the face. But that's not what a police man's job is. There is a code of conduct that police are required to abide by, and if they get caught breaking those rules, there is discipline and possible removal from duty.
In the most basic terms, the USA can no longer afford the privilege of sloppy geopolitical meddling. But we have a president who has the mental capacity of a potato, and the impulse control/anger management skills of a poorly disciplined and well spoiled child. So it's something of a delicate and precarious situation we find ourselves in.
