i think for most Americans we think of Canada as pretty much another America with a very friendly live and let live population that although they lean left are not bat**** crazy left. Yet here comes Trudau who has implemented and taken actions which are downright disgusting and the acts of a petty dictator. And a large portion of the Canadian populace seems to be going along with this. This is a shock to most of us meanwhile Russia has never had even an illusion of being a democratic Nation and we expect it to be ruled by a form of Strong Man dictatorship. When you trust someone or something and it completely fails to live up to what you thought the negative reaction is going to be far greater then if the thing you always held to be a villain does just another bad thing.
All politicians are evil, or at the very least sociopaths, given that the job description means the job is fit only for sociopaths.
That said, Putin is more intellectually honest than Trudeau. Putin will stand face to face and stab you in the chest, and he'll tell you from a mile away that it's coming. You never, ever wonder where, when or how Putin is coming. He announces it well ahead of time. No tricks, no surprises.
Trudeau, like all moral busybody sociopaths of the West, pretends to be your friend and tricks you into letting your guard down, falsifies paperwork to make it look like you left everything to him in your will, stabs you in the back and then runs off with your widow and makes sure your kids get nothing.
Trudeau just feels skeevier and slimier with his tyranny, where Putin is an old fashioned WYSIWYG tyrant.
inch by inch, they erode your freedoms. if you don't speak up now - you will not be able to speak freely at all in the future. you will own nothing and they will tell you that you should be happy. they know better than you and you are nothing but a worker bee to them.

Agree, you expect Putin to do what he is doing now, a ex KGB agent tyrant, Trudeau is a leader of Canada a free country and the way he is acting, actually before the trucker protest is more like a dictator, of course same with the Democratic governors in our country. All in the name of protecting their citizens of course

Tucker Carlson doesn't speak for me nor does anyone else. I provide neither Putin or Trudeau a free pass. Putin was a member of the KGB for many years and is a tyrant intent reestablishing the Soviet Union. His success or failure will largely be dependent the resolve of the United States and NATO to halt his expansionist efforts. The two most note worthy American presidents that effectively dealt with Soviet aggression were President Kennedy and President Reagan. Unfortunately the current American president has neither the Cabinet, energy, resolve, or leadership acumen to go head on with Putin. Putin views the Biden administration as weak and will take every opportunity to undermine the U.S. and NATO.
Trudeau is a wanna be tyrant that like many liberals allowed the pandemic to bring out his inner Stalinist. Trudeau was reelected for his third term in 2021. He's Canada's problem for the foreseeable future. One good thing about Joe Biden is at least he's not Justin Trudeau.
Democrats are suddenly concerned about Russian expansionism and militarism. Anyone paying attention knew that the Cold War never really ended and the Russians never stopped being a threat to peace in Europe. It wasn't that long ago that the most popular Democrat President in recent history made this absurd comment to Mitt Romney during a debate in 2012.
I think those who think Trudeau is more dangerous are no longer conservatives. He took the time to ask those protesting to move out and allow people to live. The Truckers were taken over by the money of the hard right. They were being given money to hang around and try to take down a Govt. The population was against their actions. Trudeau did what he had to restore order. He did it as gently as I have ever seen.
I believe that they have moved beyond conservatives to authoritarians.

Then inserts below it, "According to a conservative columnist" , the important word here is 'A', one conservative columnist states their opinion and the OP implies that 'ALL' conservatives feel this way.
This is how liberals have to word things to make their point seem stronger than it is.
Putin doesn't sail under false colors. So at least there is that. We know what Putin is. Trudeau is a reprehensible scumbag that doesn't even have the pistachios to show his true colors.
