So just because Russia ignores sovereign borders and invades its neighbors, we should do the same? Why Cuba, why not Canada? We could claim we are protecting all the English speaking people in Quebec from persecution.

Puerto Rico is a pit. Thieves who'll steal anything that isn't bolted down. And then, those effing earthquakes. Like, everyday. No thanx!

Depends on how you look at each.

Korea, No fighting since we stopped it. Trump established very good relations with it's leader and they stopped testing nuclear weapons

Vietnam, we actually WON. Even according to the North's top general

Iran, I don't recall fighting in Iran We DID stop them from testing nuclear rockets, etc.

Kuwait, read it for yourself, " U.S.-KUWAIT RELATIONS" https://www.state.gov/u-s-relations-with-kuwait/

Iraq, ISIS defeated. A peoples democratic election started under a new government by taking out Sadaam

Afghanistan, Pretty much neutralized until biden took over.

The OP suggests we invade Cuba to bring democracy and keep Communism out. He touted this list as prior examples of going to war for the same reasons.

36,000 died. Korea is still divided. Kim doesn’t care about his relationship with a former potus. Like putin he’ll do what suits him with no care to what others think

No we didn’t win Vietnam. We lost almost 60 thousand men trying to convert them to our way of life.

The entire Middle East is a thriving democracy?

Cuba?

We would already have Cuba via economic dependency on the US if we eliminated our cold war fight against the Ghost of Castro. Cuba would just join all the other Caribbean nations that we already have trade with.

1) Communists have not tried to install missiles in Canada, but they did try to do so in Cuba.

2) Cuba is run by communist dictators who use a cruel regime to hold its citizens hostage, Canada is free.

3) Canada doesn't try to support the spread communism to central & south america, Cuba does.

Our track record on this kind of operation isn't too stellar: an often tenuous, 70-year-old cease fire with Korea, North Vietnamese victory in Vietnam, 20 years of futility in Iraq and Afghanistan ... I think Kuwait is the only success.

Cuba was led by an oppressive, US-backed dictator. The economy was solid only if you were one of Batista's buddies.

No, that does not mean the communist revolution in Cuba was a better choice.

I don't like cigars; what about rum?

How do you figure that? Was I hallucinating when I watched people begging to be evacuated from the roof of the US embassy in Saigon? Were North and South Vietnam not reunited under the very government the US was trying to unseat? Is Vietnam no longer a one-party, socialist nation led by the Communist Party of Vietnam?

And we are stealing their recipe for poutine.
