"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky outlined his conditions Friday for entering peace talks with Russia, demanding a restoration of preinvasion borders, the return of more than 5 million refugees, membership in the European Union and accountability from Russian military leaders before Kyiv would consider laying down its arms."

The Reason Major Chinese Tech Firms Are Quietly Pulling Out of Russia
Quote:
Chinese tech companies are quietly pulling their products and business out of Russia because they cannot make profits due to currency restrictions and they are worried about losing access to western components - and consumers - if they violate sanctions.
Quote:
A number of Chinese companies have avoided publicly announcing why they are pulling business from Russia after the Chinese government said businesses had to fight against Western sanctions.

Some people like to argue for the sake of argument, some here are undoubtedly posting agitprop as part of an economic arrangement, some are Russian "patriots" of the type that love their country like a six-year-old loves Mommy and cannot see her doing wrong, ever. Some have bought into Russia's colossal victim complex - Russia cannot do wrong, only be done wrong, and this is payback time in their minds.

And then there are the ones who like strength and its accompanying violence for its own sake. The frightened people who backed the bully in school.

Russia would have to lose some of what they snatched in 2014 first

Recently, Polish President made a formal statement - in front of Polish military - that there will be no borders between Poland and Ukraine. That those nations will live happily ever after, as one family. To what esteemed posters know very well, what over 400 years of Polish rule in the western Ukraine was. But, anyway, Poland clearly didn't forget its old imperial cravings of "Polska od morza do morza" - Poland from sea to sea.

To what an interesting fella mentioned that, the more he looks at how that conflict is dragged, and how Poland behaves, the more he comes to conviction that Russia is waiting on Poland to move its "peacekeepers" into what was the pre 1939 borders and THEN start formal offensive in the South East.
I am firmly believing that all this was agreed upon last year and the show is just played to the script. With some delays here and there, as usual.

People, he's cocaine addict. And an actor. Sometimes, he loses track between acting a president, like he did in his comedy show and, actually, being a president. Poor guy with his life and family held ransom.

21st century Churchill, my a... Only Bush could come up with this.

Perhaps not that particular figure but Russia has been stealing or destroying a lot, seemingly not that concerned about a future viable Ukrainian economy. This invasion appears to be following a ww2 playbook. Complete with hopes to parcel out recalcitrant Ukrainian territory. The USSR, of course, colluded with Nazi Germany during ww2 to divide Poland.

A hungry people might be more cooperative. In Kherson, Russia hands out food but along with that comes registration. With fears those IDs then will be used for a Russian-style fake referendum. (Also, much of the food comes from Ukrainian warehouses.)

But now Russia is conducting a full-scale invasion in Europe's backyard. And Putin seems to be crazy. And this all reminds us of Nazi Germany and how WWII started. So doing nothing doesn't seem like such a great idea.
Putin wants the Czar’s empire back. It’s that simple.
