They just got carried away and dropped paratroopers on Kyiv. Could happen to anyone.
Not just there, as I said they had to keep Ukrainian soldiers busy in other regions of the country. The bulk of the Ukrainian army was already concentrated right to the West of Donbas, though, getting ready for its planned full-scale attack on March 8.
The US announced $215m in emergency food assistance for Ukraine.
Japan announced the doubling of aid to Ukraine to $600m, Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said.
Australia is sending Ukraine additional military equipment, taking the nation’s contribution to Kyiv’s war effort to more than 285 million Australian dollars ($199M USD).
The World Bank said it will make $30bn available to help stem the food security crisis triggered by Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The European Commission will provide Ukraine with a 9 billion euro ($9.5bn) macro-financial aid and recovery program.
No word on who will rebuild Russia, whose economy is being destroyed. I'm guessing China will step in and offer to "help" with more debt-trap diplomacy, which would eventually give China control of Russian assets.
Didn't know the Chinese apologists were repeating Putin's propaganda.
Reminds me of a story (Al Jazeera I think) talking about Russian immigrants in Israel. The passerby tries to practice his Russian and assumes they are pro-Putin and talks about oppression of the Russian language in Ukraine. The Russian says, nonsense, I was in Kiev 3 months ago and everyone spoke Russian.
It's a fact: the nationalist government of Moldova removed Russian as the second official language of the country in 1989, despite big parts of the population being Russian speakers. That led to the declaration of independence of Transnistria in 1990. In Moldova there was a regular witch hunt against minorities, which made up 35% of the population, though. Such actions can only lead to civil war.
Although Kiev states the fight at Azovstal ("combat mission") has now ended, with Azov fighters being "evacuated," Russia now reports far more Ukrainian fighters surrendered than first reported.
More than 1,700 combatants have left the plant, and even Reuters states Kiev is silent.
Of course, they didn't surrender. They didn't evacuate themselves! They somehow broke through a barrage of Russian gunfire and made off unscathed, armed and ready to fight another day.

Yes, I guess the word surrender does not fit into the crazy Western/Ukrainian propaganda...
The West and Kiev have had such a big mouth. Imagine if they lose this conflict, how will our media react? What story will they make up for us just in order not to lose face?
The Russians used the same strategy in Red Alert. Lots of expendable infantry.
I know you kid, but it's worth noting that the infantry that was lost in the attempt at taking Kyiv was Russia's least expendable infantry. Most of the Russian army has proven itself subpar, but their airborne forces are well trained and well motivated. They are a separate military branch, considered (and considering themselves) an elite, have their own national day of recognition etc.
Not cannon fodder, and not an asset to throw away on a feint or a diversionary attack.
Russia is preparing its exit from various international organizations such as the WHO and the WTO.
(Off-topic, but what about those changes to the WHO rules for emergencies? I have heard that there are plans to give the WHO far-reaching powers in cases of health emergencies, powers that are in conflict with the sovereignty of nations. Certain countries and the Gates foundation are behind that. Maybe Russia has no interest in such shady globalist ideas...)
A German politician of the AfD party, who is part of a closed defense committee, said that Germany is already a war party and that if Germans knew the amount and kind of stuff Germany sends to Ukraine, there would be protests on the streets. He is not allowed to disclose the list, though.

And what's important - no gloating or "parading" of anyone - all is done in professional, quiet manner by the Russian military.
Now the question is - where are the Russian POWs, and what did Ukrainian Nazi do with them? How were they treated?
