How many times do we have to go over this??? It's not "the Ukraine" This is why the rest of the world laughs at us when we get involved in these complex geopolitical feuds in far off lands most of us can't even locate on a map...
I truly do feel bad for the Ukrainians. They are a peaceful race who gave up their nuclear arsenal and allowed the ethnic Russian colonists to remain in their land after the breakup up the USSR and this has all now backfired. They no longer have a nuclear deterrence and the ethnic Russians remained loyal to Russia, not Ukraine and are a Fifth Column inside Ukraine.
HOWEVER this is still not really our problem. Its possible for America to focus on our own peace and prosperity without being the only superpower or policing the world. Remember that with the exception of racial and gender equality, life in America was best during the 1950s when the Soviet Union was still powerful, we had a much stronger economy when everything was still made in the USA and life was much more affordable.
Globally today maybe its okay to accept a world where Russia and China have their spheres of influence, as long as those countries also respect America's sphere of influence in the Western Hemisphere and end their involvement in Cuba and Venezuela. Then we need to renegotiate the unfair trade agreements with China and reduce our dependence on Middle Eastern, Ukrainian, and Russian oil by expanding drilling in the Gulf and in North Dakota.
Putin's true colors are revealed once again. He craves power and will murder to achieve it. It is now the responsibility of the West to make sure his regime pays a steep price for this war of aggression. Even if it takes many years. If he isn't stopped at the Ukraine, the next stop is the Baltic states. Would the West go to war to save Estonia?

He is an oligarch and corrupt.
But this is on the west. For eight years they defended Nazi war criminals who burned protestors alive and bombed civilians. Now there will a tribunal to have them and those who protected them brought to justice.

Everyone expected Russia to annex a couple Russian ethnic majority provinces in E Ukraine. Bombing across the country within 50 miles of the border with EU and NATO member states is a huge escalation.
OK, well, Russia did NOT invade the Ukraine.
Mr Putin announced limited military operation in Donbass and Lugansk region, per their governments request, to protect people from 8 years of non stop harassment.
Referendum was properly done by the people of the two breakaway regions.
No military forces are on the Ukrainian territory beyond the legal boundaries of Lugansk and Donbass.
Yes, several explosions were reported in 2 cities.
Btw, I checked. This is news from 23 minutes ago and from "there", not from New York Post or similar.
I know, quite a few here understand Russian. Here you go:
https://nypost.com/2022/02/23/russia...s-and-demands/ Oh well. We should stay the hell out of it and let them deal with it themselves. Get ready for sky high gas prices in the next couple of months. Biden said he would get tough with Russia. As usual it was nothing more than talk. Putin will do as he wants.
If Putin decides to march on any NATO countries we are involved. Putin has worked on getting ready for nuclear war this past decade. His underground bunkers can house thousands and his Satan 2 missiles cannot be stopped. Putin can take out all of Europe if he wants to.
5 Satan 2 missiles can take out all of our east coast from Maine to Florida. Putin wants more than Ukraine.
It is now the responsibility of the West to make sure his regime pays a steep price for this war of aggression.
No it’s not. Ukraine is none NATO, just like Afghanistan.
You don’t get to cherry pick which non-NATO countries deserve US troops and military aid.
