So Putin made the calculation that NATO was weak, the EU is divided and the US is divided and weak. I mean he obviously made the wrong calculation on a historic scale....but all of these recounts and audits by ninja turtles hurt the entire country. Can you make a case that Obama had a weak foreign policy (Crimea)...yes, Trump (per John Bolton) couldn't find Ukraine on a map...yes, Biden totally botched the withdrawal of Afghanistan....yes....but you also need throw in the "Stop the Steal" fantasy and it's charlatans contributing to this mess. That hurt the entire country. Just something to ponder.
No Putin made calculation that world will not attack him because he got nuclear weapons and most of the world will not want to risk WW3 over Ukraine.

Its pretty easy. Biden is weak. Putin dealt with him for 8 years during Obama and already knows how he is. The first test was Biden removing sanctions on Nord Stream. He oozes weakness. The troop buildup started IMMEDIATLY after Biden was rigged in. Covid was needed to get rid of Trump.

Death to Iran... that's OK right?

I think Russia’s decision to move against Ukraine now had more to do with these events:

Quote:
On April 10, 2021, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran stated that the top priority of the Ukrainian political leadership is to obtain the Action Plan for Membership (MAP) in the North Atlantic Alliance in 2021.
Quote:
At the June 2021 Brussels Summit, NATO leaders reiterated the decision taken at the 2008 Bucharest Summit that Ukraine would become a member of the Alliance with the Membership Action Plan (MAP) as an integral part of the process and Ukraine's right to determine its own future and foreign policy course without outside interference.

In 2017, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada passed a law making integration with NATO a foreign policy priority.

In 2018, the Ukrainian parliament approved amendments to the constitution that would make the accession of the country to NATO and the EU a central goal and the main foreign policy objective.

In 2019, the Ukrainian parliament voted with a majority of 334 out of 385 to change the Ukrainian constitution in order to help Ukraine to join NATO and the European Union.

So why now? Biden.

While true... Putin just needed some plausible reason (to him) he could defend. Ask yourself why we have such people who would like to control other nations? and are willing to commit atrocities in doing so? What is their 'motivation'?

The ruskies/slavs have done this a lot through out their history. Germans too. Why? why do they do it even when they know in the end... it all crumbles down, eventually?

His weakness is part and parcel of his own corruption and that of his family. In Putin's world corruption is just the norm. Here in the USA we don't assume it and aim higher. So in fact what created the weakness which Putin exploited and is currently counting on is the corruption of the United States system. Today Biden authorized a short access for Iran to gain the ability to produce nuclear weapons. That is the road he is taking the USA on. Putin knows it and has benefitted greatly by it. Now the world cowers at his threat to use nuclear missile if attacked. Fearful and corrupt Europe and the USA allow genocide to continue.

That is the lesson. All it takes for evil to flourish is that good men do nothing. And Biden is not a good man. What would Churchill do?

He would call his bluff and destroy that 40 mile convoy in one day.

yanno, it has occurred to me, that that 40 mile convoy is a rope-a-dope. everyone tells us its broken, 1960s junk, out of gas, ran by teenagers, using facebook for comms, etc etc...taking a lot of focus while the crack troops drop city after city?

Raw footage of Russian troops' demise in Ukraine - casualties visible, so trigger warning (NSFW).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLW6Ga86WSI

Have to post here, since every single video I have posted in another CDF subform has been "evaluated" by self-appointed Authenticity Comrade Olga and deemed "fake."

The special effects budget the Ukrainians have is impressive.
