Firearms sales fell 13% from the high of 2020, but were still 40% higher than 2019, SafeHome.org found

Quote:
American gun sales remained strong in 2021, with nearly 19 million firearms sold legally in the U.S., the second-highest total over the past two decades, according to new research from the home and personal safety group SafeHome.
Sales fell 13% from the high of 2020, but were still 40% higher than 2019, annual data compiled by SafeHome.org reveals.
Year after year, gun sales are moving up. Mostly driven by women and people of color

Somewhat off-topic, but an interesting comment from your link:

Only eight states went without a firearms-related incident in a school in 2021, Colliton said. The states which saw the most were Illinois, California, New York and North Carolina, in that order.
Telling isn't it that the 3 states with the most "firearms related incidents in schools" are also some of the most "anti-gun" states in the nation, isn't it?

I DON'T TRUST SAFEHOME.ORG BUT INFO IS INTERESTING. GUN SALES UP 12,000,000+ and GUN DEATHS UP 15,000. BAD, BUT NOT AS BAD AS MEDIA WANTS THE WORLD TO BELIEVE

Gun owners are killing themselves more often than ever before. But surely gun rights supporters strongly support gun owners having the right to shoot themselves dead when their lives are so full of utter misery that they don't want to try to live another day. Miserable, suicidal gun owners must never have their guns confiscated.

No, not really. California and New York are among the top 5 most populated states.

They should break down those deaths into what % of the 15K were illegal guns

The proprietor where I bought my three weapons in 2020 stated exactly that. Gun sales flourish when Dems are in office as people feel less safe and realize the need to protect themselves when they realize their government is incapable and unwilling to do so.
