From the poll: "A new poll of registered Florida voters, conducted by the Public Opinion Research Lab
(PORL) at the University of North Florida, shows Republican incumbent Ron DeSantis ahead of
both Democrats Charlie Crist and Agricultural Commissioner Nikki Fried in head-to-head polls
for the 2022 gubernatorial election. When asked who they would vote for if the election were
held today and the candidates were Ron DeSantis and Charlie Crist, 55% of respondents said
they would vote for DeSantis, with 34% indicating a vote for Crist, and 11% who don’t know or
refused. When asked who they would vote for if the candidates were DeSantis or Nikki Fried,
again 55% said they would vote for DeSantis, 32% for Fried, and 12% said they don’t know or
refused.
“We’re seeing a very wide margin for DeSantis against both top Democratic
candidates—Crist and Fried,” said Dr. Michael Binder, PORL faculty director and professor of
political science. “A lot of Democratic voters still doesn’t know who they would vote for, so I
would expect that lead to narrow between now and November.”

Even if all the 'Undecided' people vote for the Democratic candidate (which is unlikely), then DeSantis vs Christ would be DeSantis + 10, and DeSantis vs Fried would be DeSantis + 11, which is impressive for Florida, being that it's swingy.

DeSantis is not going to lose re-election in Florida. Too many people realize they owe him 2 years of normal life that would have been taken from them if the Democrats had been in charge.

Most of the state believes DeSantis will run for President so there seems to be more of a do 2 more years then we will see approach.

Should be an easy win for DeSantis and will likely serve as the start of a Presidental campaign push. Democrats do not have a candidate to run in Florida that would bring any excitment and I get the feeling there is no push to find someone new either.

Charlie Crist accomplished nothing in Florida politics except changing political parties, when it made sense for himself to do so. All he cares about is himself. He has no real political convictions.

Nikki Fried is a AOC squad wannabe...she's a radical leftist just waiting for her time to come out from under the moderate rock she's been hiding under just like Biden did. She's angry at the world or reasons unknown.

Moderate Dem & Indy Floridians are NOT forgetting the Dems last candidate for Gov...Andrew Gillum...the husband & father who was found drunk & vomitting alongside an overdosed male hooker in a hotel room by police. Its hard to erase those bad memories.

DeSantis raised teacher pay, put $1B into cleaning up Florida's water, & protected our freedoms when the DC Liberals wanted to mandate the way of life to Floridians. He's also keeping politics out of the classrooms. The Miami Herald & Orlando Sun-Sentinel both called DeSantis the best Governor on the environment Florida's ever had.

Who wants to walk into the DeSantis meat grinder? Barring something odd, an easy win for Desantis.

One thing about DeSantis that I have seen and will be interesting if/when he runs for President is, he gets flustered and worked up easily when being questioned or receiving pushback.

If Trump and DeSantis both run I do believe Trump can cause DeSantis to lose his cool and eliminate himself. If a local reporter can get DeSantis off his game then Trump definitely can. Also, the other candidates will come after him early as DeSantis is an early Republican primary front runner.

The Republican primaries are going to be a heck of a show. Can you imagine 4-5 Trump-like Candidates along with Trump raining Fire and Brimstone on all 5-6 other candidates every Primary debate? Must see political TV
