Prior to the reformation of the 11th Division, the role was carried out by the 4th Infantry BC), 25th Infantry Division's known as the Spartans, however the brigade has recently become part of the much large newly reformed as part of thr 11th Airborne Division, which is based in Alaska. Today the brigade is known asat the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) ans was redesignated as part of 11th Airborne Division on 6 June 2022.
1 million active personnel, with 2 million in reserves.
That's all branches.
Russia still uses the draft.
4 million Russians fought in WWII., So their army now is 3/4 as large as it was then.
The Russians were defending their country and their lives against an invading hostile army in WW2.
But if they decide to invade Alaska/US, a sovereign nation, then it's going to be different. Imagine if you are an 18 year old Russian conscript and your leader tells you to go pick a fight against the biggest boy on the block on the big boy's own backyard. To make thing worse, the big boy has friends.

You should fight them regardless. That "big boy" and his friends are not God. Every man bleeds the same as you and I.
There is motivation when you are forced fight for one man’s greed instead of fighting for your own life and country
Putin has no regard for international laws. He invaded Ukraine just like that. If he invades Alaska, would Biden fight back or surrender? If the USA fight backs, can we actually beat them? Now, I know some of you are saying nonsense, not gonna happen in a million years. A lot of people said the same thing about Ukraine. Putin was bluffing, he just wanted some attention. But he invaded.
Whether it's the CCP or Putin, it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
I had only one thought after reading your title, and that was "Do you have any idea what Alaska is like?" I thinking you don't, as I was stationed at Elemendorf AFB in the 70s, and our supply unit supplied all of the sites in AK with their needs/wants, places so cold they have covered walkways between the buildings. The Air Force had to send the airmen there to R & R every 6 months for their sanity, and some couldn't make it that long. I don't see them invading the southern part of AK and the northern part, seriously, this is not a place anyone wants to be!
Also, Russia didn't seem that bad until Biden was elected, and needed a nemesis, so he could distribute our oil and tax dollars to his friend China in his attempt to finish what Obama started - destruction of our economy.
May karma bless Biden with everything he deserves very soon!
Again, Biden and his puppeteers needed a nemesis. So simple, yet so evades so many.
I don't think Russia is that dumb to invade Alaska but they might use it as Target practice if we ever send boots on the ground to Ukraine and attack them.
Or any of our weapons are used to strike Russia by Ukraine.
LOL. OK let me help. We have enough guns for everyone. Yes, even the babies, and the 90 year olds with a walker. And then we have some spare guns just in case. We have about 20 million weapons that most would qualify as military frontline weapons. Id guess about a million of those are in Alaska alone. And quantity has a quality all its own.
But wait theres more. We run about 100's of thousands of people through military training, with 1.3 million active duty personnel, and 800K in reserve that are keeping their training up. So a TON of those people actually have gone through the military even if not currently serving. Taking Alaska is simply only doable if you flattened it with nukes. The people would make it a national sport to see who could kill the most of any invaders.
The Russians would be rolling in with tanks. Unless American citizens own Javelins and NLAWs, they would be slaughtered. In the early days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, they were handing out AK-47s to any citizen who wanted one to defend Ukraine. Those AK-47s were no match for Russian tanks.
