Again, when you're committing war crimes that are getting international attention, you would too.

If you commit murder, are you going to stick around for the cops?

Wiki, his elections:
Quote:
Yanukovych first ran for president in 2004: he advanced to the runoff election and was initially declared the winner against former Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko. However, the election was fraught with allegations of electoral fraud and voter intimidation. This caused widespread citizen protests and Kyiv's Independence Square was occupied in what became known as the Orange Revolution. The Ukrainian Supreme Court nullified the runoff election and ordered a second runoff. Yanukovych lost this second election to Yushchenko.
His 2010 election was judged free and fair by international observers, but when he rejected an agreement aligning Ukraine with the EU, and chose closer ties with Russia, he was eventually ousted (again).

It is a contractual obligation of all NATO nations to engage in war, if another NATO nation is struck.

I expect Putin to attack the supply line from Poland at some point.

The Russian military is almost a joke. The only thing Russia can do is pick on small countries.

Russia is not using all of their weapons and all of their troops. It's like fighting with one hand tied behind your back. They certainly could have taken everything much quicker but it would been much more deadly and possible hundreds of thousand of civilians would been killed and city would be in ruins. They just want to overthrow the government by doing as little as possible destruction.

So far Putin is failing at both points. The government is still intact. But he is doing a lot of damage and causing a humanitarian crisis.
