I just looked at a map I don't think that is true. Regardless Ukraine does.
The Poland–Russia border is that between Poland and the Kaliningrad oblast of Russia, which is an exclave, unconnected to the rest of Russia. The border is 232 km long.
To be fair, neither is the United States. America will not cut off Russian oil supplies to the US.
We could with little consequence. But we need to beef up US oil production. And stop using climate change as an excuse not to. A nuclear winter is one cure for climate change.
Putin has to establish a firm foothold in Ukraine first..probably won't happen easily..I expect he will establish a puppet government but will not be able to control the will of the people..they have tasted freedom too long..
There are currently three former soviet republics in Nato. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. What is to stop Putin from invading those countries with what's going on in Ukraine?
Would we really go in to a nuclear war over Estonia if Russia decided to invade them?
Well, he hasn't shown any interest in Estonia so far, so my guess is...no, it's not a concern. But I bet the three Baltic countries are pretty uneasy at this point!
As of today, Putin told Ukraine's President he's open to negotiation. What kind of genuine negotiation can there be, when he's holding a gun to the President's head? Any treaty or agreement entered into under those conditions would automatically be invalid under international law.
This is what happens when you have a mafia thug running a country.

They might not connect directly but missiles in Poland would still be a threat to them.
Missiles in the Kalinin district would be a threat to everyone else, too. Or a "deterrent", if you prefer euphemisms. I was pretty much assuming there are already some in place there.
I think the trajectory is this: economic sanctions on Russia will hurt all European countries but especially those small countries. They will become poor and desperate which leads to internal conflict. Lithuania is already in economic trouble, and 63% speak Russian. You can imagine what happens next.
It is improbable, but given the level of dumb that holds the US, EU and NATO governance together...it is certainly possible.
