The threat of many other countries joining Ukraine militarily might be enough to persuade Putin to pull out and/or negotiate. This could be the only way to get through to him.

Ukraine geography is quite different than afghanistan, its hard to fight a guerilla warfare when most the country are plain.

Russia actually had an Afghanistan first before all this.

Neo-Cons are often on the offensive, not on the defensive.
Since the US isn't directly threatened and has no contractual responsibility to Ukraine, any involvement makes it just as much an aggressor as Russia.

He doesn't have the troops to go up against NATO. He has maybe 1 million troops. NATO has 3 times that.

This is in the event that the fighting in Ukraine spills over to NATO countries. Good move but not helping Ukraine at all.
