Heavily restricting trade with Asia on key resources, including all fuel.

NATO today has massive blood on its hands, as Ukrainians' in massive numbers die as we seem to prefer that vs a spike in gasoline prices, and as Germany became Russian dependent rather than have a few coal plants.

NATO cannot operate effectively without shared sacrifice. Americans today would die facing the 1940s restrictions on consumer goods available for purchase.

Germany chose being woke and Russia chose war.

Now Europe has to painfully figure out how to get off Russian gas dependency.

The only countries left to realistically join in Europe are Sweden and Finland, the other nations not in NATO are either neutral, small principalities or are allied with Russia.

There have been suggestions in the past that NATO expand in to a western alliance, and includes the likes of Australia/NZ, Japan, South Korea etc.
