I would reverse that and say only a small percent would get through...
We have many layers of missile shields...most not public...but of the publicly acknowledged defenses, we have layers of defense. There are detection and defenses surrounding Russia in the Pacific ans throughout Europe then again in Canada and the Arctic and the oceans. They only have what they have on their land. We have chemical laser planes coupled with AWACS and satellites that can detect and destroy missiles being launched in their own country...they do not have that same capability. Then we have space based assets and subs that can take out their satellites and most likely the rods of god raining down on them...
I don't know what a "small percent" is but there would be more than enough. Sorry,. MAD stands.
Trump was far more likely to initiate a nuclear war than Biden. Trump is an idiot who lacks critical thinking skills and who ignores his advisors, trusting only in his gut. Trump is a stupid moron.
That is not reality - the US would not initiate a nuclear war and Trump would be much more likely to be able to talk Putin down. Putin sees weakness in Biden.

One missile would hurt the entire country because it could trigger more. There are several types of nukes, those that are intercontinental normally carry multiple warheads that can hit several targets with megaton size warheads - each is capable of taking out a city.

The problem with what I said though is that even the small percentage getting through would be devastating and life altering.
...BUT... the world would not end.

Uh even if one or two got through the fallout would be devastating to say the least we would still lose millions of people depending on where the few hit.
Even if they exploded in our airspace it could knock out communication systems and cause heavy damage,

It would be in the dozens if an all out strike...sadly, Europe and Canada would fare far worse than the actual US as most of the missiles shot down would be over their airspace and although most likely not "armed" yet, there would still be issues with what does get dispersed.

Simply not true! Trump had them all in check...they never knew exactly WHAT he would do...but they knew he would do something. This is exactly how you keep despots at bay...not by bowing down to them or with empty words and gestures...like "sanctions" on everything but their only real export!
