no, it makes us and NATO look WEAK in front of the world to not have done more..

we should have installed a no fly zone immediately after Ukraine had been invaded by Putin..led by NATO and the US..together we could kick Russia's ass in a heartbeat..

Putin should be killed or jailed until death..

Yes, re Putin.
Play this out: what IF all of NATO did the the No Fly zone and we kicked Russian butt.
What next?
My thought - if a man is willing to murder families - wouldn't you think he would start a Nuclear War
in a heartbeat?
So that is why rational minds are willing to stand by to see one small country take the heat? I dunno.
As horrible as that is...

Default Putin - Not the only person and thing concerning

Russia always seemed Militarized. When thinking of Germany and the atrocities the country committed you have to recognize that the leader isnt the only one without scruples. His henchmen are also a guilty crew. It's hard to fathom the destruction being done without any regard whom is affected. Children, mothers and materially some sacred antiquities are being savaged. I cannot see the forces behind these atrocities can sleep at night. I know I will hear what about Vietnam. I'll go there that was another stage set by choosing an opposing side. Many lives lost in both these events. The difference is I believe that most civilian casualties in Vietnam was inadvertent (so to speak collateral danage) What's happening in Ukraine is methodical aniolation. All who participate seem to be willing to take lives without conscience. Picture Putin being overthrown how would things be with a military ruling party. It's bad news. Unlikely the Russian Population support this bloodbath. No easy solution and many to blame. It seems a bit taunting to encourage a country to become a member of NATO when all things considered. How fast things could deteriorate when all these sanction have their impact. I pray some people come to their senses before it gets further out of hand.

Default Communism has no exit

You lived it, you try hard to understand but it
had no fit in your idea of living. You cant do that or cant do this. If you do we will get you. Life is grand when your the ones in command but what about me I just want to be free. You may carry a staff thinking you will bring me to my knees but I will stand up to fight against your so great a might. You may take my land! My life!! but I will never go down without a fight.

To those who demand freedom

I could break it down, but I'll let Harvard take it from here: How to Fail at Regime Change

Bottom line is in the first sentence:
Quote:
Since 2001, the United States has led three military inventions with the explicit goal of toppling foreign governments.
In Afghanistan, we invaded and occupied that nation for 20 years because the Taliban wouldn't hand over literally a couple people.

In Iraq, we invented WMDs as our justification.

And in Libya, Ghaddafi simply told NATO to get bent.

We can find parallels going back to the Korean Conflict. You're hard pressed to find 36 consecutive months since 1950 that the US hasn't invaded/bullied someone somewhere under the banner of "spreading democracy."

Don't try to play moral high ground as an American. We are the most meddlesome, intrusive, bully nation on the planet and have been for 70 years.

Yes. And we are free to express that thought. What can possibly go wrong when a power whom you abhor the very philosophy they uphold takes up with a side dont you necessarily have a wish to take position with the opposing side. It happens countless times and we never learn. If its good for them it's bad for us. The problem with coexistence is coexistence. No excusing our mistakes but look at the progression of things Germany be an example how long do you just take no position until something goes terribly wrong. We make errors. We are human. We are still free to watch and criticize and we all can and do do it.

Putin suffers from "Napoleonic syndrom" little man with a big ego. And hopefully, he will end up with the same fate.

We did bad things in the past. Last being GWB and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. 2022 now. Putin is wrong. We don't look stupid for learning from our past errors. Putin is a war criminal. So was GWB and his cronies. But the ones who are still alive, nothing will happen to them. Life is not fair. Regardless Putin is a war criminal.

Ukraine needs to kick Putin's arse.

All glory to Ukraine, as I have numerous family members via marriage that are 100% Ukrainian, 1st gen immigrants. I love my stepmom, and I adopted her as my мати because my own mother isn't up to the task and never was. Love me some Ukrainians, especially the crazy ones. =)

I feel nothing but sympathy for the innocent people of Ukraine whose only problem is having been born and living in a giant black market casino racket that the US and Russia both want control over.

I hope like hell the Ukrainians kick Putin's tyrant arse back to Moscow in a sling. If there is a good karma to the world, he gets dirt napped on the way. Hell, give me 20 less years of age, a 6.5 PRC with a precision barrel and good optics, and a clear line of sight, and I'd be happy to pink mist him. The world won't miss one of its scumbag tyrants.

All that said...it is still not the fight of the United States. It just isn't.

Out of curiosity, how many nations has Putin attacked since he came to power?

And...just how many did Obama attack as president?
