Isn't it amazing how people get "dismayed" when something happens that lowers cost for others they apparently think are unworthy?
When I bought my 2014 F150 I kept my 2003. Several people stopped and asked what I needed with two trucks.
People like that (ie liberals) apparently feel the need to control everything and everyone that they dislike or disagree with. Like the old Hank song says....."if you mind your own business then you won't be mindin' mine"

Now you got that old song rattling around in my brain.
Meanwhile, some of the old guys, gals and their associated younger war hawks on both sides of the political isle are now thinking, "While everyone is angry, I guess we need another unjustified foreign war to make us forget about rapidly increasing living costs."
My SUV is just as fuel efficient as most comparable sedans and is much more comfortable for me to drive. And since I drive maybe 100 miles a month, gasoline is such a small portion of my monthly spending it's irrelevant.
Since so many of us have seen it before in the 1960s, I'm probably not wrong about the thinking that is now going on. However, if you mean an actual war starting because of this crazy thinking, I agree wholeheartedly.
Aside from our Chevy Bolt which is charged by our solar system…. We have a Toyota Camry Hybrid - which gets 52 mpg.
We’re retired so there’s no commute and I’ve had the car just over 2 years and haven’t broken 10K miles.
Cost $50 to fill up last time - before the prices went over $5 a gallon. I fill up just about every 2 months. I won’t spend more than $50 whether or not it fills up or not……. In hopes that the price will come down.
The OP needs to start a new thread titled "with gas closing in on $5/gal..."
We drive ~10k/mi/yr, so no biggy for us, and our home has appreciated ~$450k in 3.5 yrs, so we're not selling our SUV. I did just sell my Porsche though.

Here's the thing about your house value, it generally isn't liquid. Now, you could have a line of credit from it for liquidity.

Sounds like my F 250. Bought 10 years ago, still haven't put 12K miles on it.
