That is a rather ridiculous position. How about the millions of innocent men, women children in Ukraine who did nothing to deserve what the monster Putin, with the backing of these oligarchs is doing to them? The entire world is enduring pain to one degree or another thanks to the Russians' unprovoked aggression. Any pain that can be inflicted on Putin and his enablers and cronies is too little.
It works the other way too. Russia in be in dire need for foreign cash soon. They need to sell their energy. The West is willing to take a hit to punish Putin.
Good for Germany. I am quite surprised. I expected Putin to walk all over the NATO countries. This push back is very refreshing.
