Russia will not come out ahead, the sanctions won’t end, and the whole thing won’t be over until all Russian forces leave Ukraine.

There is no way for Russia to win this. Even if they manage to occupy most or all of Ukraine and install a puppet government or even annex Ukraine, there will be never ending guerrilla warfare and resistance. It will be a slow bleed of the Russian military and economy. The only way Russia can extricate itself from this quagmire is for the military/security apparatus in conjunction with the oligarchs to “retire” Putin for health reasons, blame everything on him, and hope to rebuild their country.

Last night Bill Maher wanted to know the answer to if Trump was so easy on Putin why did he wait for Biden to invade?
See Bill is asking the right questions.

Sanctions not going anywhere. Russia will be under sanctions for many years to come.

I really don’t believe Putin will venture past Ukraine. Small chance he would take Moldova. The Baltics are part of NATO so he won’t touch them.

No more McDs in Russia. If it were the U.S. there would be rage. Overweight BigMac/fries/coke addicts rioting.

We shouldn't neither. It's a war between Slavic cousins fomented by the machinations of pan national organisations and individuals. I have a hard time thinking of the current Ukrainian government as any more legitimate than South Vietnam's.

I can see those born after 90's being lost without fast food, without Amazon, Starbucks etc. The older population probably don't give a crap .

That is actually an easy question to answer. Trump was doing thing that was benefiting Russia. If Trump won his 2nd term, he would have likely taken US out of NATO as such making NATO much more weaker. It possible would even resulted in collapse of NATO which is what Putin really wanted. Also if it was up to Trump, all sanctions on Russia would been gone as well.
