The biggest criticism with some of the voting machines that I've heard is this...

Apparently with some of the computerized voting machines, the voter inserts his empty ballot (unmarked) into the machine and then uses the touch screen to select his voting choices. After that the voter never sees their ballot again --they have no way of knowing whether the computer marked their choices accurately. Now I'm not sure how many voting machines are organized this way or what percentage of them were used in past elections but it should be obvious that this is a MAJOR FLAW. Every voter should be able to see their clearly marked ballot before submitting it.

Even if the voter received their ballot back, hand recounts are still necessary to ensure that the computer tallies match up with the paper ballot tallies. Computerized election machines can be easily hacked-- this has been demonstrated numerous times before at hacker conventions.

They would be just what you said, 'the tinfoil hat wing", not the entirety of the party. But, what about "the Squad" wing of the Democratic Party? Is "the Squad" the entirety of the Democratic Party?

And that would get worse if they didn't allow counting by machines.

Then I look at the other side....and go "I'll take my chances."

Makes perfect sense since the GOP wants to return America back to the '50s

As a former Democrat (hey - nobody's perfect!) I remember when it was the Left that insisted on hand recounts. Because it was true that the Bush campaign pulled a lot of shenanigans with the Diebold machines.

Now the new MAGA Republican Party declares the same goal, and the newly Woke and deranged Left contradict their former selves....again.

All to try and allow their Party to cheat because they can no longer win fairly.

In some Republican states, such as Oklahoma, machines to count votes have turned out as working quite well and so are not viewed as a problem. In 2021, it was decided to add an extra of early voting. No one in Oklahoma wants to go back to all paper, even though there have been some close elections, such as the approval to expand Medicaid and how Trump barely won Oklahoma County.

Yep. With observers from all parties involved right there watching every single move. Nobody is kicked out. Nobody is locked out. No shades are pulled down. No counting facility is closed for the night and then mysteriously reopened in the middle of the night. No "misplaced boxes of ballots" are suddenly discovered. None of that crap. Everyone gets in on the counting and everyone is there to see every aspect. When counts are stopped NOBODY is there. And no computers and black box applications allowed AT ALL. NONE.

Not to mention that the programs can be coded in very nefarious ways to begin with. Programmers can make their code almost impossible to follow if they are creative. Very easy to hide all kinds of features and cheats when no one is bothering to even look into it.

It does seem that Republicans don't trust the ballot machines, and it might be time to come together and say although this technology is FABULOUS and makes elections cheap, we won't use it this cycle.

We'll all just agree to have votes counted by hand, with cameras on all votes and all vote counters, and both parties standing by to nod their heads that the vote was counted correctly, and maybe then we'll finally be able to say do you finally get it? You're out numbered fair and square, the election hasn't been stolen from you.

I'm willing to spend that large amount of money, although I do realize even with all that, and a committee of members from each party agreeing on the plan and signing off that the election was fair, there will be death threats against republican committee members if democrats win again fair and square.
