If you have $100,000 in cash sitting in a bank account that means in three years it would be completely worthless. Something has to give pretty soon. Now my mind leans a little on the side of conspiracy, I think some of this is being done purposely. But who knows. I am unfortunately in the situation where I have to shop for a new vehicle. $40,000 buys you an average four-cylinder basic SUV. It’s gotten insane. In two years they say the average car price will be around $80,000. What are people gonna do then?

All I know as we definitely are living in “interesting times” and unfortunately it looks like it’s going to get even more interesting.
My friend is looking for a car and the wait is like 6 months. My used car is worth as much as I paid for it 4 years ago.

Gas should be coming down in the next couple weeks based on major drops on commodity exchanges the last few days. Gasoline wholesale has dropped nearly a dollar and diesel more than that. It seems we can always find some kind of meat on sale, but meal planning is out. You gotta be flexible.

Out of curiosity I looked up what my local grocery store. Kroger affiliate is selling beef stew meat for and it is $6 a pound for the regular pack and $5 a pound for the family pack. I think it is on sale this week.

To decrease cost, shop sales and clip coupons. You can also go to stores like Aldi. You can check the clearance area which has the meat which is close to expiration.

" This inflation is getting severe "
Said a customer to the cashier
The ones that were leaving
Appeared to be grieving
And all seemed to be holding their rear.

I think the China virus is partly responsible for this economic crises. Plus all the shutdowns etc

LOL. That won't happen. It takes 1-2 months for oil to be processed and sold. Pumps were not reflecting peak prices yet anyway, which would have exceeded $6 average, nationally, at the peak of 7-10 days ago.

If the dip towards $100/barrel sticks, USA might only see median start with a 5 in the dollar column.

Our gas is around $5. I noticed on Sunday; on a day it was not raining in the Pacific Northwest; on a day that people would have normally been out driving around... ...there was barely anyone on the roads. It was all day Sunday; not just Sunday morning. My house backs up to a street (not a main drag, but, still). So, it was very noticeably more quiet.

...believe it is impacting people's decision to drive so much (I know my car is parked a lot more)... ...this is a side benefit... more peaceful...

Things could get ugly if credit dries up and food stamps aren’t increased substantially (though that would just make things worse in the long run). I don’t see us pulling out of this tailspin any time soon.
Lots of jobs out there. You get off your job, and head to your next job. 2 paychecks.

So, then move to a Red State to get away from high gas prices. The lowest price for gas with 10% ethanol where I live is $3.59. I don't see many thug mobiles. Not all that many of them, but conservative Californians have been moving here to get away from the high cost of living and too many CA state regulations.

Same here, but shocked that mini-pies at Wal-Mart are still only a measly 50 cents.
