"Trump is so divisive that years before he took office we had to start banning official business, travel, and contracts with half the states. We're about unity and acceptance." -San Francisco

.
Say what? Which states have what 'voter suppression'? Yeah, I know what they mean. They mean anti-cheating. This thing about calling one thing something else to disguise it's meaning is getting old.

That's a strange way of saying 'bottom half of the class.'

They don't care. So long as they keep getting the stimulus checks and federal welfare to keep them running. Who needs tourism, law enforcement, small businesses? Just tax everything, increase property taxes on their already inflated housing values, and you can vote a grapefruit into the mayor's office and no one would notice the difference.

Sell your property while it still has insane value and get the hell out of there. California is going to crash... sooner than later.

A March 4 memorandum from City Administrator Carmen Chu reveals that San Francisco will not enter into contracts with businesses headquartered in most of the United States — 28 states in all. Official travel to those states is also forbidden. And this list includes some surprises: Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Wisconsin.

As a result of this vast boycott, San Francisco is constraining the number of businesses it can ink deals with, which all but certainly inhibits quality and drives up costs. It also adds onerous time constraints to the contracting process, which leads to poor outcomes and also drives up costs.

“It limits our ability to procure products and receive services and contract services we need to run,” explains Chu. “It limits competition for our work.”

Why would we do this? As is the case with so many San Francisco misadventures, it all started with the best of intentions.

It started with LGBT issues.

In 2019, the city expanded it to states with repressive anti-abortion laws. And, last year, we expanded it again, to encompass states engaging in voter suppression. And that’s how, for the first time, we found ourselves boycotting and forbidding official travel to most other states.

All of these boycotts are now hurting their ability to manage their own affairs. They are figuring out that they actually need the rest of the country to function. So now they doing mental gymnastics to figure out a way in their own minds how they can do business in boycotted states - while claiming some social moral high ground.
Its time for Republican governors to start boycotting San Francisco.

Its not going to happen, but the federal government should stop this nonsense. It probably violates the constitution.
