There is absolutely no way in hell NY will have a Republican Governor. No way.
Pataki was the last one. I expect Cuomo to pop in by summer. NY’ers are so incredibly dumb that they would probably vote this douchebag into office again.
Either way, it’s down to Hochul or Cuomo. Republicans shouldn’t even bother running anybody. It’s a waste of time.

You couldn't be more wrong.
This is the exact time Republicans should run anywhere and everywhere.
You've got a losing attitude.
The fact is, even if the Republicans lose in deep blue areas, it forces the Dems to spend money in places they shouldn't have to - thus rendering more competitive regions more difficult to attain.
That's Politics 101.
And mark my words right now, we are going to see astonishing things this year.
The pessimism in this forum does not reflect the reality on the ground. I live in deep blue Rhode Island and we are seeing a record enrollment of GOP candidates, many of them parents who are sick and tired of CRT being taught in the class room, and still reeling from the earlier school shutdowns.
The same exact dynamic that took place in Virginia.
Republicans almost took New Jersey in November, back when Dems' support was nowhere near as dismal as it is now.
I'm not being pollyannish. And no one should. Optimism can be dangerous.
I truly believe NY'ers are demanding change and if things get bad enough, voting R will happen.
I read today that Hochul maybe changing her tune and revising this stupid no bail law.... If anything, the public outcry is changing the Democrats stances on a lot of failing issues... such as the mask laws, no bail etc... Is it too late? Probably not. Most NY's I know, want to vote D. AS long as they see a change, they will keep giving chances.
It wouldn't be Republicans voting for Cuomo. This takes votes away from Hochul, if he follows through.
This really would go nowhere.
