Under the definition of war crimes, Biden and our government are guilty. How W Bush and Cheney weren't even impeached (a start) for their crimes and torture is beyond me. They can impeach Trump about a phone call about nothing but a war, crimes and torture..... crickets.

Given the relatively earnest attempts at precision warfare without decimating the existing infrastructure and allowing mutually agreed civilian corridors to be opened, it's hard to portray Putin as a bloody warlord. He's a despot engaged in an offensive war based on morally complicated issues (I'm not going to outright dismiss the underlying reasons for the conflict).

Whatever sense Biden has I hope he would understand that he supported or at least gave his vote for the Iraq War back in the early 2000s which included considerable loss of civilian life. If I'm not mistaken a core facet of the US military doctrine is air superiority and destruction of capability and desire to wage war. Oftentimes this includes wide scale destruction of cities and key infrastructure. Not to say the Russians aren't capable of doing this but I think it can be firmly stated that America has cornered the market here.

What good does it do for him to call Putin a war criminal?

And just make Putin much more difficult to deal with.

It was a moronic thing to say.

I would say it was typical for the senile old man, but Boris Johnson echoed the comment. Maybe Boris is losing it also.

What do you expect for Corn Pops to challenge Putin to a push up contest.

It's mostly a feel good move, putting the war in the context of good vs. evil.

Russia's response to such insults:

Quote:
"We do hear statements that are in fact personal insults to President Putin. These statements are actually coming from the president of the United States of America on a daily basis,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in response to a journalist’s question on Friday.

“Considering such irritability from Mr. Biden, his fatigue, sometimes forgetfulness, which leads to aggressive statements, we will not give sharp assessments so as not to cause more aggression,” he concluded. Peskov added that being a thoughtful and wise leader, Vladimir Putin never responds to personal insults."
