Ever since the first time anyone said "two weeks to slow the spread", STOPPING the virus has been a lost cause. This is a big world of freely traveling people. There was never a chance of stopping it. Even the safety measures, including masks and shutdowns, would only ever slow it down. Remember the initial discussion was keeping the spread down to a level the hospitals could handle it. The goal was never eliminating it or even, having empty hospitals.

That worked. The hospitals were never overrun, lots of people have now had it or been vaccinated (which doesn't prevent it, only lessens the severity). The variants are all weaker than the original in terms of symptoms, and at this point, the more people who get it, and thus build immunity to it, the better. Masks may help very vulnerable individuals who need to keep all contact distant and brief. But masking no longer helps society, which will be better off when the virus has circulated to everyone who can survive it, and thus run it's course.

Healthy masked people out and about but shunning contact, are actually just fresh places the virus can still land, and it will, eventually, because no one can keep that up for ever.

I admit, it might be ok to take off your mask if there aren't a lot of people around. But if you're in a densely populated area where there are a lot of people around you, then yes, a virus can still spread outdoors!

This virus IS NOT spread outdoors or through casual passing contact. It never was.

This is a fact that is not new, it's been known very nearly from the start of this pandemic. It's something every expert I've ever heard agrees on.

If you want to disagree with that.... then prove it.

Masks don't work, so I am guessing that people that go maskless that have a clue! Considering that I have lived nearly 7 decades without mask wearing or virus vaccines injected into my body........... And, I do my homework! You have to go to studies pre-political COVID. And, science doesn't change.

The widespread use of cloth masks by healthcare workers may actually put them at increased risk of respiratory illness and viral infections and their global use should be discouraged, according to a UNSW study.

https://thefederalist.com/2020/11/23...es-like-covid/

https://worldhealth.net/news/masks-a...mmary-science/

"This 2020 meta-analysis found that evidence from randomized controlled trials of face masks did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza, either when worn by infected persons (source control) or by persons in the general community to reduce their susceptibility. (2)"

I was in the military and worked on an Army post for 8 years, and caught a lot of viruses (probably why I am more resistant now), never got vaccines after being a child, and believe that preventive medicine means eating healthy and exercising.

So, since masks actually do not work, and actually may cause more harm than good.............. How much more simple does it have to get.

Most people accept they will get viruses or other illnesses, and just live their lives. As for NYC, I would just move from that mess. Do you wear boots and rain coats to avoid feces and urine on the streets?

In NYC, I would worry about de-population efforts there which were used during the height of the plandemic!

I'm not sure where you get that people have been hiding under their beds. I still wear a mask when out, but I never hid under my bed nor have any of my friends, conservative or liberal.

I also know many who contracted Covid and died as a result. I'm not sure why people who try to take precautions are ridiculed.

The only people being ridiculed are the ones like OP ridiculing others for not taking so-called "precautions."

Why am I so hard on the covidians? I suppose it is because they tried to lock us in our homes and shut down our nation to appease their fears. What is worse is the fact that none of their lockdowns, mask wearing or social distancing worked. It changed nothing. Many of us are just plain angry at those who pushed this on us. The covid panic damaged our society, we hold the covidians responsible for this.

And they should be made to pay the damages out of their own pockets.

Do you wear your emotional support mask in your own home?
