Well, Biden has banned new drilling and exploration on federal lands, placed most of the US continental shelf off-limits to oil extraction, shut down a pipeline project that could have serviced the Bakken oil fields, and added new, expensive regulations aimed at destroying smaller producers. The fool is doing everything he can to destroy the American oil industry-while also enabling and enriching foreign ones. Remember what he said-he doesn't work for us.

Biden invited the oil executives to tell them to cut production. Did CNN forget to tell you that? Biden a few weeks ago put on more regulations on oil production.

Why is it that the conservative solution is always increased production rather than conservation?

Being thoughtful about the use would go a long way to solving the incessant supply and demand issues.

Little things like air up tires and weatherizing houses, double pane low e windows, etc.

Ah, the uneducated.

Besides a lease a PERMIT is REQUIRED.

Biden not only CANCELLED permits buy will NOT grant any more.

I know, details, details, details!

Biden approved more "permits" in 2021 than Trump did in his first year.

https://biologicaldiversity.org/w/ne...34-2022-01-21/

“Even under Biden, 96 percent are getting approved versus 98 percent under Trump,†he said.

It's dropped off in 2022 because the oil companies aren't using the federal permits that have already been granted.

Quote:
Weiss downplayed the impact of the permitting slowdown on industry, arguing that the number of permits issued doesn’t have an immediate correlation to industry’s ability to drill and that companies frequently allow permits to expire without being used. His organization counted 8,000 permits that oil companies had not used or had allowed to forfeit between 2016 and 2021.

Sounds like a GOP campaign slogan not based on facts. Even if that were true it takes years to drill and bring oil to the pump, it doesn’t change in 1 year. Gas prices are based on the world market not just in the US, we do not dictate prices.

Production of US barrels of oil in millions (Trump in yellow)
2016 3,237,056
2017 3,415,257
2018 3,993,288
2019 4,485,653
2020 4,129,563

2021 4,082,478

What we can see is that production was going up under Trump until 2020 when the pandemic hit early in the year. Oil production continued to go down during Biden's first year even though the pandemic was easing and oil prices were going up (meaning production should be going up as well to take advantage of the higher prices).

The question is how much of this continued drop in production is due to the pandemic and how much is due to the Biden administration - or some combination of the two which is what I believe.
