Many people here sit on this website and say that the poors dont want to come to work anymore because Biden is paying them to stay home.
I say Trump gave people the opportunity of a lifetime to defraud every US tax payer and outright steal money...so thanks a lot Trump for causing the biggest fraud in many of our lifetimes. Also, Thank you to Biden for actually hunting down these scumbags.
Many who participated in what prosecutors are calling the largest fraud in U.S. history — the theft of hundreds of billions of dollars in taxpayer money intended to help those harmed by the coronavirus pandemic — couldn’t resist purchasing luxury automobiles. Also mansions, private jet flights and swanky vacations.
They came into their riches by participating in what experts say is the theft of as much as $80 billion — or about 10 percent — of the $800 billion handed out in a Covid relief plan known as the Paycheck Protection Program, or PPP. That’s on top of the $90 billion to $400 billion believed to have been stolen from the $900 billion Covid unemployment relief program — at least half taken by international fraudsters — as NBC News reported last year. And another $80 billion potentially pilfered from a separate Covid disaster relief program.

My small business might have gone under without it. I would of preferred the covid scare tactics never have taken place to require such a scheme to begin with. It was all unneccesary

It is good to hear SOME people got the money who deserved it and used it correctly. Sadly, with no oversight and instant approvals caused by a whitehouse that had no plan, we were all seriously defrauded by many of our own people. Want to talk about inflation? lets start with this article.
Under normal circumstances, the fed govt misappropriates, skims, schemes untold millions every year, why should a plot as big as this one be the exception? The only hope of stopping it, is that its own largesse be the death of it. It is utterly beyond any meaningful reform

You're surprised that a government program thrown together very quickly with the intent of doling out nearly a trillion dollars was subject to fraud?
Just wait until you hear about Medicare.
I know about the fraud. I just don't understand why you're acting like it was unexpected, and anyway, it's been discovered. That's about the best we can hope for. The system is working, isn't it?
On a side note, if you don't want to see people defrauding us taxpayers, tell your representatives to tax and spend less. There's always fraud when it comes to government money. Always. The easiest and best way to reduce the fraud is to reduce the spending.
